The Tea Party protest were primarily about the Federal Reserve not Obama. As with any protest there are other factions involved. Eventually they were co-opted by the Republican Party.

Clinton won the popular vote by winning 80-90% of the popular vote in NYC, Chicago, LA and a couple other major cities.

The reason the EC exists is so that votes outside the inner cities count.
