Anyone using Amerinoc?
I understand that they may have changed hands, and despite their terrific past, and very responsive support, this might not be the same.
I've noticed some technical oddities, and wondered if anyone else, who has been using them for a while has noticed any troubling changes? Amerinoc was recommended on this board by quite a few long time customers a year ago. Where do things stand now? Thanks, -Dino |
There was a thread a few days ago slamming them do a search
|
i did check all those posts but i was hoping for a more objective tesponse on this issue.
is anyone still having problems and what are they exactly other than the withdrawal of backup services. thanks |

is this question serious ?
few weeks ago they had some major hardware failure, host went down...after like 12 hours of downtime, they were like: "uppss... now you may copy your files to our host again as basically we dont have them any more" if I wouldnt have my own backups, I would be totally fucked up... can you imagine worse thing for a host and his customer ? its UNBELIEVABLE. the only good thing is that they refunded me money very promptly, as just few days before that meltdown i paid them for year of service upfront... so the answer is: run. its not 2006 anymore ;-) |
Just go ahead and use them, if what you have read hasn't stopped you, then nothing else will. Don't come crying when all your hard work is flushed down the toilet
And be sure to backup your shit daily |

The transition from Amerinoc to the new company that bought out Amerinoc went fine. A month or so in, email was going to spam, I sent in a support ticket, got it answered within a few minutes and resolved within an hour. That being said, I host MY sites on dream host & digital ocean. I'd be afraid to sign back up with Amerinoc after hearing all the recent horror stories here. |
Go with M3 server - never had a single problem there and they are very affordable

i like Amerinoc, their support was always great for me, if i could afford i would buy better server but i would do this with them.
|
Not bad a problem with them other than they are less personable as before.

They are not good anymore and I've experienced all sorts of strange things. I've moved on. Not using them anymore. Jolly |
Amerinoc have not been good for most of this year. Their sale and move to new company just made things worse. When support went from 30 minutes to 2-3 days and sites constantly up/down/up/down...we moved away.
They used to be really nice folks as well. Not so much anymore. Now, just robots. |
they used to be just ok in the past but went to shit a few years back and it seems things are getting worse. there is no reason to use them, there are a lot of better hosts out there.

thanks to those who provided constructive comments.

I hate to admit it but I still use them. I no longer have their link in my sig cause I would not recommend them to ANYONE.
I haven't moved away cause my websites are mostly static and I don't think I could get a better price on a managed VPS with 6 gigs of ram, 6400 gigs of BW for $63 a month. Because I don't have paysites and my sites are mostly static I have an exact copy of ALL my sites on my PC and external drives. Yes, I could proly afford to pay a lot more money but why when most of my income from this server is only CB why bother. Paysites don't convert like they use to and my ads for them are more filler to get people looking at my CB ads. I do other adult work for another company that I don't need hosting for. I just hate change and really don't want to try a different host after 13+ years with this one. They were Great hosting for 11 years. If or when they have a hard drive failure I'll move but till then I'll deal with the shitty service and keep copies of everything organized. |

They have not messed anything up too badly (yet?), but they have dropped the ball a couple times, and we have had a site unnecessarily down for 24 hrs. As a Hostgator post-EIG refugee, these sorts of acquisition/downhill slides are less fun each time. My needs are very basic, and as long as they tighten up their "managing/monitoring" and perk up tech support, this will be better than trading for something potentially worse. Before I chose Amerinoc, I checked out the testimonials and they were mostly the best. This latest webhost acquisition/shakeout makes number #5 in the 21 years I have relied on webhosts. -Dino |
Still can remember when everyone was praising them. Times have changed it seems.
Go with vacares.com :thumbsup |

Before EIG bought them, Hostgator was awesome. I had several dedicated servers with them. But now, just check the daily reviews on HG. Sad. |
