How Many Trade Shows Do You Attend a Year?
I'm curious to learn how many trade shows GFY members attend a year?
How do you determine what show's you go to? And what's your favorite and why? |
zero....

None....
|
Let's say 2
|
generally speaking the majority of the people at almost all of them are the same core folks, just look at JFK or MikeB's photos. I don't go to any, the only reason I ever did in adult was for the tax writeoff's. Nowadays I'd much rather go to fun destinations and do cool stuff with my personal friends and family.
I think they are more of a see your old friends, and do some drinking on the company dime then they are actual networking events anymore. |

I go to max 3 a year now, sometimes less as I enjoy spending time with my family - AMS, PHX, VEGAS. The shows are basically the same core group of people, very little new business to be had at shows but its good for service providers to keep relationships going and "service" clients. The way I see it the ones who attend every show are doing it because the people at the shows are their "core group of friends" and they can pay for the "vacation" as a deduction. Sure business gets done but it is secondary. |

Does hanging out with webmasters in a brothel count?
|
This year I only went to one - YNOT Party Austin (Obviously.) For 2017 I will most likely do Internext and then Phoenix Forum.
I've never really picked which shows I go to, but instead that is usually chosen by my employer. The best show to go to is Phoenix Forum. I disagree with the idea that "the same people go to the shows". Every time I go to a show I meet new people. New people enter the industry all the time, and new companies are born. |
Two a year -- Phoenix and Vegas.
|
I thought I was at one, but found out later it was just a 7 Eleven
|
I don't actually attend any. But do have these domains for sale.

Wow very interesting responses.
Because of what field I work within I'm attending several shows a year but this is why I wanted to question ya'll to see what others are doing nowadays, what people's perspectives are and so forth. Love seeing the responses so keep them coming! My favorite show I'd have to say is The Phoenix Forum for several reasons which include the snack shack LOL. |
wonder why there are no responses from all the troll posters on here in this thread? I don't.
in reality trade show attendances are up in numbers - at least at the European Summit shows. Andreas is looking for 2 bigger hotels for next year. i would bet though that 80% of the young folks from various traffic and mobile companies at the shows have no idea what GFY is |
Once a year, to Amsterdam. It is very useful for a guy/business like me/mine.

You can reach out to the adult industry market attending shows -- services to "enterprise" -- I use that term loosely*
You are pushing a medium range ticket so a few new clients may be worth the expense. Our personnel attend these shows. Marco is at most of them. We rarely outsource anything however. Our .CAM registry is outsourcing Registry EPP SDK services for expediency reasons with plans to move this in house eventually. We hired a professor for consumer research for our arbitration with Verisign when they contested our application with ICANN -- obviously we prevailed :) |
1 every 5 years.
|
Xbiz LA cause I am local then Vegas and Phoenix
|
I usually attend 5-10 conferences a year, but not related to adult.
Went to Phoenix Forum in 2015 because of the tech companies present. Had a blast regardless of the "core group of friends." It was a conference like no other. :1orglaugh Got me a GFY hat :thumbsup |
