Unity.

Anyone's coding in Unity?

Looks like a tech sand box to me, people try and code, some make real shit with it.

Unity is awesome. I grew up using 3d Game Studio from Conitec and Unity is much better.

2.5d ftw. :upsidedow

I was messing with unity back before there was a free option and only worked on macs. I'm no coder, so I didn't get far but I did build some cool game maps inside it at one point.

What was the learning curve like? I have limited experience coding, but I'm great with the creation 3d and 2d assets. Can one get by without coding in Unity?

It's not too bad. Definitely start with C#, though. Easier than Boo or Javascript imho and it's much better documented.
Javascript is decent, too, but you need to know more about JS before going into it with Unity.

If you want a click together solution with little to no coding needed for basic things, 3dGameStudio would be worth looking at.

I have a C experience from 90s, and some JS of course, so C# is not a mystery in terms of coding rather than knowing the objects, libraries and methods . . . Saw the intro where they create a scene for a 2D game in Photoshop - loved it. The other thing that i liked its not its about games only but admin panel coding and all sorts of app like experience. Also, you can output the program to many platforms.

There is actually D code like C code.

I wanted to clear a search and I typed 'd'
