whats the best basic but solid cheap shared or vps hosting?
looking for just very basic but solid hosting and decent support for low traffic simple sites. auto backups would be nice
appreciate feedback. thanks |
Unmanaged VPS is good inexpensive hosting but you need to administrate your own server.
I have 3 VPS servers, been using them for years for personal servers, with no control panels, SSH administration only -- never had a server issue that I created. You just have to update them and move to newer operating system versions -- that can be a hassle. I just have moving days every few years to newer versions. If you don't have the knowledge or time -- get a managed server. These control panels have too many exploitable bugs and operating overhead using your system resources (allocated resources if you are not a stand-alone dedicated server). |
Mojohost offers VPS .. not sure what your budget is - hit me up on Skype: mojohostscott

Hi..
This works great for me.. 50 Euros a year Oliver runs it as a one man show, but does a great job.. Always responsive... but I haven't had a server issue in 4 years.. Good for 10 domains... Cpanel and all.. https://www.mycyberhosting.net/web-hosting |
It is better to go with the vps hosting. I have been using 247host for over 10 years now and their support is awesome and they also pretty inexpensive. If you are looking for a managed hosting then I can fully recommend them. Check out my signature for the coupon code.

I am hosting my personal sites with
CERTIFIED HOSTING since 2010, never had an issue. An excellent value for the very much minimal price. Also worth checking out on Black Friday or Cyber Monday as there may be a special deal available. |
