Documents filed by the IRS signal the agency?s intent to pursue both egregious tax evaders, as well as small, everyday users who use bitcoin and other forms of digital currency as a potential dodge for paying taxes.

Feds and the like should up their game to really dig deep and learn this thing is bigger then they will ever realize. BTCFL :321GFY

Remember what the Feds got AL Capone for ...

Interesting timing however ...
More to develop maybe ... stay tuned ...

If you read the article -- as soon as BTC is converted into fiat currency the BTC ownership becomes known. You need to show records of where it came from and it is taxable as income or as capital gains.

The most outdated entity on the face of the earth is the IRS. They soon willlll realize the software and the script book they play from has been beat so many times that it is almost pathetic they try and go after Crypto. This thing is way bigger then the Mafia, with so many more ways of keeping one's safe

Pay your taxes, goyim.

Truth an disclosion is the only way they will ever be able to run a true investigation....and even then, it would not be possible to track the final transaction from A to B

It really makes no difference unless the value dramatically rises (which we all hope) and we want to cash out! I'd rather use a reliable wallet like this then run the risk of losing everything without. Consider it a "potential" future fee. lol

Interestingly, I needed to check the balance on a prepaid card today that I use for testing purposes ( along with security a <$100 balance) and I had to recreate my online account and furnish some information.

I load that prepaid card with cash at the grocery store. Big brother is watching? They redesigned their website in the past day -- I logged in 2 days ago to the old website with no problem --- and maybe they trashed the database or had some security update possibly --- and not an IRS subpoena.

jscott 11-26-2016 12:21 PM

A continuation of the fed scare tactics :disgust

woj 11-26-2016 12:25 PM

those that hold BTC now would be reluctant to sell, while buyers wouldn't really be affected much (nothing illegal about buying BTC), so shouldn't this news actually drive the price up? (same # of buyers, with fewer sellers = price going up)

jscott 11-26-2016 12:26 PM

I agree woj... i'm not letting any of my BTC go away from me :)
