Being schooled by the Emperor is a great privilege. :thumbsup

I watched it for 5 episodes and it's boring. Too much story lines of people and robots shooting each other, too much emphasis on why the robots are going wrong and after 5 episodes it hadn't progressed one bit.

I suspect they're stringing it out to get lots of series out of something that was a great idea for a 2-hour movie.

ilnjscb 11-28-2016 04:45 AM

Great show. There is a lot in zeitgeist right now about humanoid robots. Methinks they don't appear in reality for 15 years or more, and that is the "old" version.

CaptainHowdy 11-28-2016 08:51 AM

Won't watch ...

Paul_BongaCash 11-28-2016 08:57 AM

i will watch the 8th today, really looking forward, great series

Bladewire 11-28-2016 09:32 AM

Loved episode 9 lots of revelations!

After posting this I realized I didn't want to discuss and accidently post spoilers but WOW and the deaths in this episode, you hope they aren't really dead.

I love the psychology of this show and the intricate interweaving storylines, makes you think :thumbsup

Robbie 11-28-2016 09:34 AM

The writing and acting in the show are high quality stuff.

And the twists and turns in the last 3 episodes...I did not see any of that coming.
Excellent show.

bronco67 11-28-2016 10:28 AM

It's been getting better and better as it goes -- which is the best way to go. I remember Game of Thrones season one being like that also. The penultimate episode was "holy shit" (Ned), but the finale was "holy motherfucking shit!" (Baby Dragons). I'm hoping for Westorld next week to be a big holy motherfucking shit.

Excellent show.

So can I just watch the last four episodes at the first 5 went nowhere?

When do the robots start killing the tourists? Without that element, it's a bad Western, with a totally pointless level. There have been far better Westerns that stuck to being Western. The idea of killing a robot, that can't kill back, is as enthralling as shooting ducks in the Funfair. Not real ducks. Having scientist pontificate on why the robots aren't working is feeble. The scientists aren't clearing the RAM. They need to do Format the hard drive.

Acting is good.

If CGI baby dragons rate "holy motherfucking shit!". I'm clearly in the wrong forum. I thought this was mostly adult males. LOL

For real Drama, watch The Fall, no CGI.

So you suspect that Anthony Hopkins chose to star in every episode of this series, and it probably sucks?

**SPOLIERS : If you aren't caught up, don't read. **

I've been hooked on Westworld since the beginning, and recently binged watch the show to get caught up to date. Really, really good.

I'm surprised that some call it boring. While it's low on action, its over the top mind-bendy goodness.

My only minor complaint is about Maeve Millay (Thandie Newton's character). **SPOLIER **: She seems to be evolving, or, becoming self aware a bit too fast. Same for Bernard Low (Jeffery Wright's character). I would prefer to see these character's evolution move more slowly, the way Delores Abernathy's (Even Rachel Wood's character) is moving.

In the original Westworld movie, it was never really clear what was happening to all of the robots. Gunslinger (Yul Brenner's character) hits a glitch and starts killing, but is he self aware? He might / might not be, and that was interesting. In the new Westworld, yes some are becoming self aware, but its a little too in-your-face. I wish this was more subtle.

Otherwise, great series. Beautiful production. Perfect vfx. Needs more Evan Rachel Wood boobies.

matuloo 11-29-2016 12:54 PM

I love this series too! Very good acting and excellent story line IMO, can't wait for the finale and how much answers it's gonna bring :)

Smart Fred 11-29-2016 01:26 PM

Really interesting serie that makes us interrogating about consciousness. If you don't like meta-physics subjects, this serie is not for you.
Looking at it as a western is not the right way, neither is looking at it as a new park theme.

Bladewire 12-04-2016 06:20 PM

Season finale tonight!

The internet has ruined this show, because it's been dissected half to death...and most of the theories have turned out to be correct. I blame myself for reading the stories when they pop up in my google news feed, but I wish I could have been surprised when the big stuff happened, and I really would have been genuinely surprised. Not because I'm gullible, but when i watch a TV show or movie I like to experience it has it happens and not have an internal dialogue with myself trying to figure out everything beforehand.

The three big "shock" twists were no shock at all because the internet already had it figured out. Fuck you, internet.

Ha! I own that. One of my all time favorites, and so recent, a real step forward. I was in college for computer science / mechanical engineering, then the internet came along :thumbsup

I'm gonna watch the final episode a couple more times and comment tomorrow. I've had a couple drinks and friends are here wanting to watch again!

Let me explain how to discuss a point of view. You have to do more than utter a stupid one line statement.

By countering my points with your view.

All the robots hit a glitch and started killing people. The film was about the duel between Yul Brenner's' character and dark clothed gunslinger and Richard Chamberlain a mild-mannered man thrown into the deep end. See the parallels?

So don't read the reviews. :upsidedow

Do the robots turn on the tourists in the later issues or are they going to stretch this out to more series?

This episode was the best yet a real good one.

Okay...saying that some piece of art which has dragons in it shouldn't be watched by adults makes you an idiot.

That's another thing that makes your opinions stupid and silly. You've put your requirements of enjoyment for Westworld in a box. If it doesn't follow the same path of the movie, then it's not worth your precious time. Why not try accepting something for what it is, instead of wishing it was something else? Like your face.

It's over your fucking head anyway.

The robot he was making in the lab under the house was a clone of him.

My theory anyway, we never see the clone finished.

Just read this:

Is Anthony Hopkins? Dr. Ford dead? ?Well, that version of Ford is dead,? confirms Nolan. Remember, it?s Westworld, the place where robots never die.

They won't have season 2 out until 2018 fuuuuuuuuuuuuck!

Nice idea about swapping him out for a robot or he really did kill himself and move his mind in to a robot.

i think he may have faked his own death. that was a clone killed. now he can kill people and not be the suspect.

OMFG that would be brilliant! Who would he kill & why?

I think the new exec Chuck is a robot too. The way she opened the door naked for the meeting was just not normal.

I'm gonna watch it again now :thumbsup
