I believe in Freedom Of Speech, but just like everything thing else there are restrictions and limitations.

For example, we have Freedom Of Speech but you cannot yell "fire" in a plane or in a movie theater. You also cannot slander someone. You also cannot express your right to Freedom Of Speech on my front lawn at 3am while playing a trumpet.

Currently, flag burning is not illegal in the United States. The Supreme Court of the United States in its decision from 1969 has ruled that the burning of the flag is protected by the First Amendment. That "piece of cloth" is displayed where ever the United States has a presence, on the land, sea, air, and outer space. It is far, far more than just a "piece of cloth".
