UK IP Act Passed. All URL's Visited Archived For 12 Months!
Damn this is insane! How do the people in the UK feel about this? Is the majority really for this?
---- The IP Act includes big provisions, the most discussed of which is that service providers will have to keep a record of their customers? web browsing history and phone calls for 12 months. From December 31 (the date the current Data Retention and Investigatory Powers Act 2014 expires), if you visit a website, the broadband provider will record its domain. A long list of agencies will be able to look at this record in addition to the police and intelligence services and ?bulk collection? powers mean that users won?t have to be suspected of anything for this to happen. That?s a red flag to privacy campaigners because they interpret it to mean that innocent citizens will be watched. If police go a stage further and obtain a warrant from the home secretary (co-authorised by judges in a ?double lock? arrangement), they will also be able to conduct ?equipment interference? against suspects? computers, in other words hack them. That covers the interception of all actual communications including emails, actual phone calls and SMS messages. Full story: https://nakedsecurity.sophos.com/201...y-becomes-law/ |
The United Kingdom Morality Police are knocking on your door ...
Welcome to Iran, China or North Korea. A now dead friend of mine insisted that the Internet was a giant government trap back in 1995. Use whatsapp. Really, so long as this is not abused and is for real national security reasons :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh |

I think this is wrong on so many levels.
The problem is it's possible for people - meaning courts - to read into something that just isn't there. I made a comment about "erotic asphyxiation" on Skype a few minutes ago, and had to figure out how to spell it so I did a search. Just because I did a search for it doesn't mean I am remotely interested in it. |
I've got nothing to hide. Yada yada yada.
