Vlogger PewDiePie has suggested that YouTube is sabotaging his channel because he is white.

The Swedish YouTuber has said that he is going to delete his account because the video site has been penalising him. That apparent conspiracy has led to his popularity falling, he said in a video where he ranted against the site.

And the problem might be that he is white, he said in the same rant. Laying out the possible reasons that YouTube is supposedly looking to undermine him, he pointed to his race as well as the kinds of titles he uses on his videos.

“I’m white,” he said in the video. “Can I make that comment? But I do think that’s a problem.”

He made the suggestion after claiming that YouTube wanted to put someone else on the top of the site, “someone extremely cancerous”. That might be Lily Singh, a Canadian YouTuber with Indian heritage, he suggested.

PewDiePie is by most measures the most popular of all of the YouTube stars. But he says that he is being penalised and that popularity is on the wane.

He said that he would remove his account once he reached 50 million subscribers. At that point he would remove his channel – though it isn’t clear whether he would start a new one or leave the site entirely.

He's so big that he can make his own tube and serve ads on his own terms, no need for Youtube anymore..

Actually.. if you watch this video he says the reason he's losing views is because there is so much porn on youtube now...

He hates porn because it's taking away from his views and he's crying like a baby because he's making less money now, though he denies he's upset that he's making less money, but he is going nuts because of all the porn on youtube..

People go to his vids and see porn on the sidebar and click on those instead...

He claims he wants to safe society from seeing porn on youtube....

He is just trolling for more subscribers. Threaten to delete account at 50 mil so that new people subscribe just to see him delete his account. Watch his subs skyrocket with all the news site reporting this non-story.

People find him good-looking? Anyway my previous comment was more facetious than anything (although there's truth to it). I do think he definitely owes a lot of his success & good fortune to being one of the earliest 'pioneers' of Youtube ( much like Michelle Phan), before everyone else fully realized the platform's full potential for advertising and branding.

Not to mention the way he segmented and appealed to a very specific niche audience that have stuck with him for years aka the gaming community.

Yup. He wanted his video to make the headlines. Success.

He does have a point though, I've even seen bestiality as clickbait thumbnails on youtube.
