UNION, N.C. - A teen who was chained to the porch of a North Carolina house with a dead chicken around his neck is suing his former foster parent, social services officials and Union County. CBS Charlotte affiliate WBTV reports report the teen filed a lawsuit last week claiming Wanda Sue Larson used "connections" with local officials to manipulate his custody and that Union County inadequately supervised her. Larson and her boyfriend pleaded guilty to multiple child abuse charges in his case. County officials declined to comment. A phone number for Larson couldn't be found. Prosecutors said the boy was beaten and starved and had been forced to sleep on a floor, chained up. Prosecutors also said he had marks and scars on his body as well as a broken wrist and an infected hand. Larson, 58, and her boyfriend, 58-year-old Dorian Harper, were foster parents to the then-11-year-old boy and four other adoptive children. When a deputy responded to an animal service complaint in November 2013, he reportedly saw the child on the porch -- as punishment for killing a chicken on the family farm. Prosecutors said all five children were victimized, but that the foster child suffered the most. The boy's current foster parent told WBTV that he wouldn't sleep at night and remained fully dressed in case he needed to run away. They also alleged that Harper had starved the youngest boy and burned him with electrical wires, as well made the kids sleep on the floor with dirty blankets, according to WBTV. article... |
Coming from the foster care system I will say it's pretty fucked up.
The first family I was interviewed to live with at their home had 6 kids to a room bunked in. All boys & stay at home Dad. I was lucky to have a kick ass social services rep. I told him no thanks and went back to the group home. Months later the second family we met at Denny's. The Dad was a creepy pastor and they were fake perfect. Creepy vibes I said no and went back to the group home. Me and another kid ran away from the group home on Halloween so it would be hard to find us. Long story short I told my social services rep I'd run away again unless I had a normal home to live in. A week later we found awesome foster parents in a huge house on land next to a small farm and lived there for years until I was 17. Those first two foster homes? Registered sex offenders now with multiple child abuse sex offense convictions. The foster care system is broken. |
that sounds strange. I never knew they let kids choose.

Or maybe the first one wasn't an interview but a drop off and I refused? :1orglaugh the second and final ones were both definately interviews. I was a strong kid by that point. When your shoulder gets broken fighting off your mom's boyfriend as he plays Russian roulette with a gun to her head and her teeth knocked out, you learn not to fear/respect others as much and make them earn your respect, at least I did at 11-12. Ancient history, but the point is you grow up quick. |
Once again a delightful copy and paste, brasshat. You sure know how to make the sickest selection :thumbsup
