GFY - Please Setup A Separate Thread Section For Political Threads
 

I was hoping it would settle down after the election but is even worse now. All of these thread are interesting but completely clogging up the few business threads left on this board.

I am quite sure how this was asked many times from year 2001 :) That limitation would cause board to look much less active so it will never pass.

Set up a sub-forum called "Real Business" -- your business post will remain rather static in position. Maybe, that forum will get "quality views" ...

You just cannot have your cake and eat it too ... You just won't get the views volume with dry, matter of fact business posts.

It would be nice if all the trolls/non-porners would be banned and the ridiculous religious, political and racist threads bounced into a dark hole.

But that crap makes the owners money so...not holding breath.

There is already two sub sections which is in that style, mainstream business discussion and webmaster question and answers. Tho i never visit those sections

I visit the Webmaster's Q&A occasionally but it is like work or egocentric show off. Helping the "needy" has limits :2 cents:

Separate forums (all kinds, off topic or business) were denied by admins years ago, for the reason that they would not be popular etc, plus takes away traffic from main forum etc. Something like that.
So no point in suggesting something like this.

Like it or not, all the fuckery is only thing keeping this place alive. It sure as hell isn't industry people and business topics doing it..

discussing politics isn't the issue as much as partisan championing or bashing is. you remove that then at least things can be discussed. we can have discussions about industry specific issues without a problem but the minute you start blathering on about one party or another or one particular elected official it attracts the fanatics and even lunatics.

basically keep your political affiliations to yourself and that goes away.

I've said this time and time again.... GFY needs to be broken down into multiple forums. Have the one for adult business, one for politics, one for just fucking around. The problem is people come here and only post on one forum, the main one, and never go anywhere else.

GFY has a home page. the first link, is "fucking around & program discussion" every section under that, is business.

since the playground section distracts you from business, maybe code up a safe space for yourself so the fucking around section disappears, & you only see/surf the business GFY all day long.
