Https:// For Porn Sites

How important is having your site switched to https:// form http://, if your processor already is https://? Does it affect your SEO much?
Thanks

I would like to hear a few more opinions...I have faced this issue about a month ago.

Https is just a protocol for secure communication, so if you run paysite it would be good to use the https connection. You may notice some grow in the organic traffic after the switch but not much.

Then you most likely did the move wrong.
i work in the seo field also in mainstream business and when webmasters move to https over 90% of them atleast fck up something important.

In adult we have started changing to https a while ago and its worth the effort, we see increases. But there a lot of things to check/watch out for and often mistakes are made that make the move hurt instead of help

hard to say with google's jihad against porn

So far it seems it can help a bit if done properly but I still have my main sites on http.

"https" adds a little benefit in ranking.
It is like a tie break between 2 sites with same content and same link profile.
The one with "https" wins!

I didn't noticed any big increase in organic traffic after I switched some sites to https !

Paul&John 12-12-2016 11:25 AM

No google love for my ssl sites.. yet

anexsia 12-18-2016 05:29 PM

It has made very little difference for me and I switched back to creating all http sites.

Https won't effect your SEO if done properly but as noted there are some difficulties in doing it right but it's not about SEO. It's about providing a more secure environment for your visitors. What they do on your site what they visit and what they download all remains private encrypted between their browsers and your server away from spying eyes that some of your visitors wouldn't want made public. it can also protect you from having malware inserted into your site and less vulnerable to being hacked, last thing any of us want. As the end user becomes more aware of what https means you will find that it becomes the norm rather than the exception. At the moment it's your choice until the end user demands it.
