What is the best software to create desktop tutorials?

Let's say I want to make a video tutorial on how to write a blog on my computer screen, what is the best software for this?

I've been doing course authoring for 5+ years and work with lynda.com/linkedin/pluralsight etc..

They all seem to prefer Camtasia Studio for screen casting. A new version just came out which I haven't yet used.
