Tube Video Players

I'm looking for suggestions for flash/html5/mp4 video players for use on tube sites. Preferably free but will consider commercial licensing so long as it's unlimited domains (not interested in per domain licensing). Should be able to adapt to user (ie: display html5 code for mobile users or for users without flash) and should be responsive as well.

Personally I would just use html5 and only serve mp4. Flash is almost dead and most people have html5/mp4 compatible browsers...and the people that don't are mostly in third-world countries using opera-mini or some shit, and not worth any money anyway.

VideoJS is great for html5 video.

Do you happen to have examples of pre-roll / in-video advertising using html5 players? For the most part it seems flash is still the standard to take advantage of placing ads within the videos.

I used to recommend JWPlayer in the past, but they suddenly wanted to charge me like $15K a year for using their player on a commercial site that did lots of views. So switched to FlowPlayer and it's great.

This is what I've started doing, haven't tried VideoJS yet though.

Check this out: KVS Player Pro. The pre/post-roll/on pause ads work fine in HTML5 mode (Android, iOS). The video player itself is 100% free for commercial use. You pay only for a WordPress wrapper-plugin.

What about for non-WP users?

I have no idea about YouTube-style pre-rolls but its real easy to code up some on-pause banners. I'm sure you could code up a pre roll easy enough too. My favorite thing about html5 video is that you can manipulate the player with JavaScript and CSS. Good luck writing anything custom for flv; its easy with html5.

Beeg does in-player banners w/ html5; might be a good example to get started.

VideoJS also supports pre-rolls and post-rolls. It has a plugin with API for adding ads.
