serious question to the left, the right and the foreign

what news sources do you trust? or feel is the least biased or wide ranging? if I can read it in English I would like to be aware of news source. I would think 'the wall street journal' the bbc? don't the advents have a paper? what are the other sources of current activates out there? I prefer less about politics too.

what do you think guys? thanks, B

ErectMedia 12-20-2016 09:41 PM

Honestly I haven't watched the news in months and I'm much happier. :winkwink: During the entire presidential debates I watched them live and then turned it off when done as one station leans this way, the next station leans the other way etc... Just give me the facts and I can analyze them on my own.

Just by watching or reading you should be able to figure out if they slant shit a certain direction.

What WSJ has going for it in regards to trust is the opinion columns. These are not editorials from some dude sitting on his couch. They are career people that have spent their life dedicated to their practice. I don't always agree with all of their opinions but it's impossible for someone even moderately level headed to argue with someone that could run circles around them.

I don't trust any news source. There is always an angle to some extent. NPR & BBC are most honest but boring as fuck to read, I feel o0 years old when I read them no idea why.

I read left & right news sources to get the full story. RawStory (far left but good for dramatic spin news) Drudge Report (right leaning drama spin) Fox, HuffPost, Politico & The Blaze.

Paul Markham 12-21-2016 02:33 AM

I listen to BBC, Sky, CNN and then go research it online. Because most big media sources are so liberal they try to influence how we perceive events.

MFCT 12-21-2016 05:17 AM

I trust a new source that began presenting the Iraq war as "the war to eliminate Saddam's weapons of mass destruction." And then one day it became "the war to free the Iraqi people from a dictator" from that point onward, with no explanation.

I trust a news source that fabricates a new race, "white Hispanic."

I'll give a hint. Its the same news source where Anderson Cooper was detailing the election results, with a look on his face that appeared as though someone had slapped him in the face really hard, mere seconds before appearing on camera.

EddyTheDog 12-21-2016 05:42 AM

I use the BBC most of the time - I did notice they leaned heavily against Trump - Of course that meant I agreed with them, however it was hardly unbiased reporting - And that is their main remit...

pimpmaster9000 12-21-2016 05:55 AM

journalists are in the business of selling news not reporting it...the plain truth does not sell...some events sell better than others, for example terrorism...you are more likely to drown in your own bathtub than be killed in a terror attack but one of these 2 events will sell much better so it is widely reported...

journalists and politicians have a symbiotic relationship and cherry picking and distorting the truth to fit personal agendas is their profession...

C-Span I. II, III. Pretty much zero spin and straight out of the horses mouth without the bias of the MSM interpreting what was said. You can do your own interpretation of what was said by Representatives and Senators as you can see and hear in real time what they are saying on any given day. In the mornings you also get a rotating range of headline reports from several Major and Minor News Papers around the entire country with out any interpretation from the anchor. You can place what ever value you want to place on the reports.

It is definitely the most unbiased news source on the web anywhere.

Tbh they're all biased in some way - it all depends who pays for their advertising and their bills (and where their sponsors' loyalties lie) and who feeds them info. But I will say BBC, CBC and sometimes RT are my go to sources when it comes to televised news.

burning of flag = outrage! anger! shock!

@ OP it's all bs. MSM really shit the bed. There were more lies from left msm than right. Sure there was fake news, but that was being started by everyone really. That's people like brasshonkeys fault really with the copy and paste. The problem was, this time around, the left didn't even realize that the hand that was stroking them off was their own. That is the pinnacle of delusional. Look at the polls, the snowflakes, the electoral college for christ sakes. The left actually believed they could sway it--more electorates turned against hillary than trump. That must have been a kick in the nuts to rochard, prince, barbwire etc (fyi for the record I like all of these guys). But reflect on this for a second: the left was threatening electorates, prince is posting strategies, I think rochard was the most level about it, but that is how blind the left was. It's all because their trusted news outlets were preaching to the choir. Instead of bringing up points and strategies about how to beat trump early on, they were just lionizing their own base in a Marie Antoinette tone, and the left constituents / voters in this case were the aristocratic. There was just this constant patting on the back by the left for 8 years. They ended up believing their own bullshit.
Back to the news-- I find the wsj bias so much so that my girl who's a bernie nut was like wow. I honestly feel wiki leaks is doing a good job. Some of the trutherbot twitter accounts, and believe it or not, the most unbias during the election was fox news. No one expected a trump victory. I put on my painter overalls and was down in the basement already accepting defeat--kind of pissed, more worried about where the nation was going because this 3rd wave femenism and attack on free speach is real. With the repubs it's only pandering to bible thumpers. Anyway, my girl is like "come up here" trump is turning states red one by one. I was in disbelief. Watching the news anchors really opened my eyes though. The older ones like Jim from Murphy Brown were blaming themselves for poor journlism and believing their own bias and realizing idenity politics failed and they were like "well obviously, you can't isolate an entire demographic, the most powerful demographic." They had an awakening right there on national tv. The snowflake crew like rachel maddow who's been shoving lez politics down peoples throats was the most sore and in disbelief/horror. It almost was neatly summed up that night why and how the election happened the way it did. Then the snowflakes, who were always told they matter and can change things, for the first time realized their snow globe cracked and had meltdowns. That was the most disturbing of this entire thing. Then you had these little lezbos on youtube who are too young to even have pubes, but they are lezzies somehow, are saying, "hillary did so much for this country IT WAS HER TURN." Using the word turn as it applies to some underlying current of justice and fairness immediately went out the window with the disghusting behavior that followed in snowglobe cities--and is still going on in Ca. I have long time white friends from cali who have become absolute self fucking loathers. For what? They are broke. There is no priveldge being handed out to them. They litterally need to be debreifed and deprogramed in some post cult therapy session. But real news? It died this election. The right who had more truth than the left in this election will succumb to the same mastabatory preaching to the choir tactics the left did. So smart right wingers need to take heed on that and navagate these next 4 years with both hands on the wheel. On a parting note, I will say this: it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that taking in refugees is a horrible idea, and the people who can't see that are a part of the problem and need to re evaluate their entire stance. This refugee stuff, gender idenity stuff is so moot at this point. Let's repair things on our own soil-- let's try to bridge the gap between blacks and whites, become more welcoming to the legal inmigrants already here, but close the doors. No more of that crap until the world has cooled its jets a bit.
Sorry for my rant-

at first it surprised me that most of you can't read past spun news articles but then I realized it explains a lot of the bullshit that goes on here on a daily basis... In short, i can read news from just about any qualified source and get what I need out of it, spin or not. cnn or fox.. doesn't matter. The brain is a solid filter, you guys should try using it more often and stop pretending news stories are bible verses.

I have read that the economist.com is a pretty solid site that isn't overly sensational if that's what you were looking for. I am only new to it myself so can't say for sure just yet. WSJ has always been pretty solid too as Sly mentioned already.

odd comment since most of your musings is leftist fake news drivel. you only let out that independent side once every 20 posts or so. search your own comments, its true.

OP an objective news outlet does not exist. we are all genetically predisposed to accepting certain types of viewpoints, just like the gay inhales cock despite social blowback. nobody can help but to bend a certain way. nurture plays a role but its only temporary.

as such, all journalists shill in op-ed, just a matter of degree. Today its obviously off the charts thanks to trump causing the liberal media to go bonkers & come out of the closet.

:2 cents:

Grapesoda 12-21-2016 09:36 AM

There was just this constant patting on the back by the left for 8 years. They ended up believing their own bullshit.

---- the writer that switched side, david mamaon, his thought is the left does not provide information to each other, the questions and comments are used only to self-identify, oh you belong with us, or yes, I am one of you. Much of that going on around here, and the open hostility that results when you are identified as not belonging is very intense. I was just thinking this morning that the left displays all the mannerisms and actions of a tightly control religion. Made me realize, man needs god even though a man might say god has no existence. That being the case, a substitute is created and then invested in.

----------------------------------------------------------------

because this 3rd wave femenism and attack on free speach is real

--- it?s scary for sure, and is seems that feminism isn?t enough, there is open promotion of homosexuality under the guise of we are all equal. I?m not sure what that is about other than the war on boys
https://www.amazon.com/War-Against-B.../dp/1501125427

https://www.amazon.com/Silencing-Lef...kirsten+powers

this generation has been raised like lab rats by the libs and media, it?s very bad.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, my girl is like "come up here" trump is turning states red one by one. I was in disbelief. Watching the news anchors really opened my eyes though. The older ones like Jim from Murphy Brown were blaming themselves for poor journalism and believing their own bias and realizing idenity politics failed and they were like "well obviously, you can't isolate an entire demographic, the most powerful demographic."

I always wonder if there is a website you can go too, check off the ?divisions you have? and get a list of ?your entitlements?

Trump is doing things differently no doubt, stealing us blind or helping we won?t know for some time however it sure the fuck is nice to say Merry Christmas without worry of public hostility, it?s like a breath of fresh air? try it 

search my comments? why the fuck would i do that? i'm not insanely obsessive about this, you are. I just call people out for their bullshit and you are by far MOST full of it. You can't even find a news source that doesn't have 'truth' in the title and that makes me a 'leftist'? Yeah, that is some real sound reasoning right there. I'm anti-batshit crazy..

I don't outright trust any specific news source, I take what they say and try to come to my own conclusions. One thing is I never watch any of the 24/7 Drama networks and I don't do the political blogs.

Usually web based news from sites like CBS News for example has a lot less drama than say CNN or Fox news or any of the pundit filled blogs. I used to use ABC News more, but it seemed they were turning to drama news on their website, CBS does it as well but seems more toned down usually. It's actually hard to find unbiased news when it comes to politics, everyone will have spin but I wont even read any of the progressive or far right sites.
