Why aren't feminists outraged over Joe Mixon's apology?
 

Feminists demand equal rights don't they? I fully support equal rights for women. If women want equal rights then by logic that means they should be treated the same as men. So today Joe Mixon said "it is never OK for a man to retaliate against a woman if she hits you". Is he implying that women are weak? Feminists should be outraged by his overtly sexist remarks. Is he living in the stone age or something?

If you are not aware of this Joe Mixon is a college football player and two or three years ago he walked into a sandwich shop and talked to a female. He turned to walk away and the woman pushed him violently. He then moved forward and she hit him. Then he responded with a knock out punch and she hit her head on the table when she fell. The video of her violent provocation and his self defensive actions were released recently and of course all the white knights have come out and said they want to kick his ass. Apparently men are subhumans are are supposed to just stand there and let women attack them. Have I ever hit a woman? Nope, and I don't plan on it. I have been punched by women more than once but I have good impulse control and did not even consider hitting them back. Not all people have the same impulse control as me so they hit back in self defense.

Based on the libertarian Non-Aggression Principle (NAP), if one initiates or threatens the initiation of force against you or your property (your body is your property), then you're justified in using force as self-defense. Most people can agree with this.

It starts to get a bit more complex however when we talk about severity of response, and other lifeboat scenarios.

Some anarchists/libertarians believe that the severity of the response should not greatly outweigh the severity of the offense.

Others believe that any amount of force (including death) should be legally excusable, regardless of the severity of the offense. So for instance, if someone refuses to leave your property, you're justified in shooting them. Or in the case of the video, his response was perfectly justifiable (or if he even ended up killing her).

Like many, they are hypocrites.

Imagine Sports run on an equal rights basis.
