interesting saying I just heard... think about it

gratitude turn to hate when the gift exceeds the ability to repay... explains very much to me. never see it put so clearly before.

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend." - Melody Beattie

very good thank you, btw wouldn't that make an awesome statement for BLM? or even crockett or broncoguy or mark prince??

Bladewire 12-25-2016 08:09 AM

It's because we have gratitude that we are able to extend our strength to those different than us.

are you on drugs???? I'm just not used to this from you lol! I have been unable to break through to those guys... I've tried everything from logic to hostility. those guys are emotionally locked into their narrow paths in life. such a waste really... yes there is a culture clash, however talk of war leads to war, talk of peace leads to peace, talk of farming leads to farms, talk of racial divisions and racial inequality, lead to racial divisions and racial inequality. pretty simple math, really doesn't even get much simpler. it's weird, all the libs I've ever communicated with or seen their communication, not once have I ever seen or heard gratitude. for anything, I only hear and read demands for entitlements. I live with god so I have difficulty understanding or relating to a life empty of gratitude, even for something as simple as breathing in and out, I'm filled with gratitude.

thank you, you should bring this guy to the table more often. be well Sir

Hmm, Yes! I agree. Furthermore,

I love how some peeps are posting all over the board about reason and facts and the importance of ish like gratitude and kindness.

and then in the same fucking posts insult and debase each other. even in the 'nice' posts, all these digs at the other side.

and I love how peeps who probably don't really know many peeps who belong to 'special interest groups' (when it comes to marginalized communities, the corporate elite are not an interest group of course) don't really listen to what peeps have to say.

have such authoritative understanding of their experiences and dreams and needs.

not just referring to this thread btw, think it's awesome any time two peeps can converse without it becoming a flame war of assaults on personhood.

just this thread made me want to post this, that's all

back on topic

I also love when people find some sort of sick pleasure in the fact that working and middle class white males are starting to experience the same shit poor and racialized peeps have known all too well all along.

most peeps who voted trump aren't the enemy, neither are those who abhor him. working class white men have legitimate issues. what I personally find issue with is the sorts of ideologies that are currently being associated with -and encouraged by- those issues.

access to resources and power and wealth need not be a zero sum game and while we're all squabbling amongst ourselves the elite win and will continue to do so

you can't forge alliances with people who are different from you for mutual benefit while simultaneously dehumanizing and mocking and acting like one knows what the other person thinks and feels and has experienced.

lol as a species we'll never resolve the middle east issues at this point. y'all in the states can't seem to do it either

no disrespect to anyone intended by this, just gets kinda frustrating to me sometimes

Says the guy who posts "black people being bad" stories. You're only fooling yourself.

lol actually losing faith and doing what you proposed was really bad for me. was there for a while. wasn't a good thing.

glad to be back to me in all my naive herb tea drinking listening more than talking and being strong enough to act in ways that matter self

get on with your bad self tho and bless =)

yes this is exactly what I'm doing minus the tea, with coffee. I dumped social agendas/disagreements/opinions for faith. the better I am the more I can help, and I only have a few years left. :)

I don't mind jerking around with these cats, I don't take it personal. like an experiment AND what bladerunner posted in this thread was what I needed to hear, just fucking priceless. so you never really know, do you?

going to minimize my social foot print and focus and health, work and family. I put some hostile stuff on facebook to 'note' my exit... I chose to do that after listening to reliable people conversing about making an impact on others.

emotionally locked polarized people only respond to hostility and abuse. eventually you can get them to open up, sometimes. I tried. my friends that know me personally checked on me off line. they don't always understand the things I do or why, they do trust me though.

I was getting over whelmed with the 'social democrats weird agendas and complaints and fears.' I'll check my PM every now and the if any one here wants to hit me up, and many people here know me off line. be well.. :thumbsup

So what does that mean? If you give someone something so valuable that they can't match in repayment, they start to hate you?

:1orglaugh

so that's what you took from that passage? talk about shaping a thought to fit your pre-existing viewpoint.

that or your knowledge and profundity is light years beyond mine and I bow to your superior wisdom that this is not a critique about those who participate in creating conditions where one must bow for largess from another

as someone who writes (not anything worth quoting but as a writer) I'd hit up CyberSEO for some of his mental hitman work if someone attempted to do that to my words

as a complete and isolated non-sequitur, seriously totally unethical for you for trying to twist someone else's words to fit your agenda.

have the balls to write your own mantras for your own ideas.

you're also the person who avers:

as if at any point in the documented human history of our species this strategy actually succeeded in terms of supporting a fair and peaceful and sustainable socio-econ-polit structure.

dare ya to find one :winkwink:

and then after you can't perhaps use some logic and imagination and think about how a viewpoint that may not actually be productive is the filter through which you view everything.

no disrespect btw, I get the sense you genuinely care about some of the things you write about, mainly as they pertain to you but whatever

that's a start

just holy fuck you are missing so much

Both sides could use it. Gratitude can also lead to giving as you realize how lucky you have been in receiving what you did. Just saying.

"Locked in" just the same as you are from my point of view.
