A favorite book and film. Saw the film as a teenager as well. Loved them both. Sad news but 96 was a good run...
Looking forward to seeing the new series next year with Sir Ben.

I remember watching the movie in class as a kid. It was the first bloody cartoon I'd ever seen, and I could feel the physical suffocation of them being trapped in the holes underground dying. Never read the book.

Remember seeing the movie with my oldest daughter, she sobbed for hours.

I saw the film again a few months back for the first time in years, I never realised until then just how dark it really was. And to think it was marketed as a children's film/book!
