This has been bothering me all day, so I thought I'd speak up...

Why didn't Harry Potter use magic to correct his eyesight, so he didn't need the glasses that left him vulnerable when he lost or broke them?

EddyTheDog 12-27-2016 01:50 PM

I am possibly the only person who has not read the books or seen the films...

It is kids science fiction, so you can be scifi fan and not interested in kids movies like that.
Ps: same here

OP: I am not sure magic works like that (that you can do anything you imaginer, even medical miracles)

I wouldn't be concerned about the glasses if I where him. I would be all "Cockus Enlargeous".

He did not have a crystal at the end of his wand. You need a crystal.

You're not alone.

Never read the books or seen the movies.

No interest, either.

or even ask one of his mates or dumbledor :1orglaugh :thumbsup

Two reasons - he was hit by a death blinding curse as a baby and it would either be too dangerous to try to reverse...or potentially cannot be reversed

Second is the author wore glasses and she once said in an interview she just wanted the hero to have glasses LOL

brassmonkey 12-27-2016 06:18 PM

Well, I can't help you with the Harry Potter thing, but here's something that will brighten your day:

Exact same thing could be said about the starwars franchise. The 1977 movie was written with kids in mind and just happened to also interest adults as well

Besides if you have never read the books, or seen the movies (I prefer the books) how can you possibly say you dont like them?

LeMeLiN 12-28-2016 09:20 AM

what is the spell for correcting one's eyesight?

Caitlin BongaCash 12-28-2016 09:53 AM

it makes no sense to look for logic in the children's fairy tale :upsidedow

It was all explained, someone must have torn a page out of your book :(

The spell to correct his eyesight was written in ink that was invisible to anyone looking at it through glasses, and his eyes on their own weren't good enough to read it either.

Tried to get into it as a kid, but couldn't get past the first sentence. IDK it just didn't pull me in. Seems fun though, and I know lots of ppl who are lifelong fans. I feel like the internet has made a bigger deal of Harry Potter if anything :)

It seems you are not the first to ask this question:
