Shopowners who ship fysical goods intercontinental, inside please

Working on a project.. Project is about selling and shipping fysical goods. I like the idea of serving customers worldwide but i was wondering if shippingcosts would spoil the party making it too expensive for customers to buy at the other side of the ocean. Why would an american buy from Europe if there are 20, 30, 40? dollar shippingcosts added?

Is there a service like this in the US: storage, packing and sending orders to US customers for foreign companies?

I am not the spelling police - and I know English is not your first language - The OCD in me has to tell you that it's 'physical' though...

You could do fulfillment with Amazon. You send them a large batch of your product, they warehouse it and charge you a fee for doing so. Meanwhile, you gain access to Americans by offering a realistic shipping price.

I can tell you from experience that if the product is something people in the US want...they will definitely pay the shipping

A specific case...I watched a store in the UK on shopify/etsy put out a call for pre-orders of items...they received 50,000 orders for an item that was sold at $59 and shipping to the US was $20..then had the item produced and fulfilled all of the orders...they placed a 50,000 item limit on it...and are now getting ready to do it again because their waiting list has grown close to another 50,000 in the US

Research your country's shipping options.
You'll NEED tracking so shady customers can not rip you off by saying they never got their order.

If your products are readily available in the US. Forget it. If you have something unique. They will pay it if your target audience can afford it.

We have international customers regularly pay 80-100$ just for shipping our products from the U.S.

Research, "drop-shippers", US, forwarding services." That kind of stuff.

We have sold & shipped physical goods, from jewelry to clothing, Christmas hampers to DVD's. Most of the shipped items you see on ebay & other sites are bought from China at low cost, cheaper than it would cost when buying in bulk, then with packaging, it still works well for the sellers profit & the customer.

What goods are you considering to buy & sell?
