Anyone got a Samsung Galaxy S7?

If so, on average, how large in MBs is a picture? Just working out how much data I'd need per photo to email them from the phone.

Thanks :)

my pics run 2 to 2.2 mb each. I read where some people are running higher Mb

Cool. At least that gives me a ball park starting figure, Thanks.

using the standard settings and it's more like 4mb per picture on average

OK Thanks. Anyone else care to chime in?

Nah, I am not stupid to overpay for a phone when lets say 1/3 of the price phone can do 100% the same things most people need.

I got Galaxy S7 Edge and photos are 3.5mb-4mb on average

If you use only 1 sim, you can use the second sim slot as a memory extension with like 64gb card

Thanks. Its not about storage, its 100% about data usage for sending them via email. Yes, I know I could save to an SD card then transfer them that way, but I need to work out the data for email :)

When this thread dries up, I'll calculate the average from all the replies and go from there :)

why not edit them on your phone then.. resize them, shrink them, there are apps to do them at the same time.

I still have a S4.. works just fine. The picture size is an issue for me as well because I do most of my ebay pictures on my phone. I really don't want to upload a bunch of 3mb pictures, specially when I'm traveling using my mobile data. This is one of the reasons I don't use a newer camera.

TBH, the cellphone provider companies are really hindering technology with their small data caps.. It will be worse if Trump guts the FCC and lets them do away with net neutrality. All those streaming services will have big problems, same with gaming.

Love my S7.

Had it almost a year and hasn't shattered.... I would have gone through at least 4 Iphones in that time.

You can tweak the default picture settings so that they don't end up weighting so much (like resolution, etc).

The default settings make photos extremely huge, i have to resize them down if i want to send them to someone. I think the default is 4k

LetterTwenty7 01-26-2017 04:02 PM

The last 3 pics I took:
2.74mb
3.91
3.42

camera 4:3 [12M] 4032x3024

It's a very good phone, really! :)
