CUNTS!!!! Just got 'virtually' kicked out from the real life cinema!
 

Fucking cunts! I payed a small fortune for 3 seats a week in advance to go see Trainspotting 2 today! I was going to go with my son and his wife, and i'd spared no expense and plumped for premium seating in the VIP area etc... Really expensive...

Anyway, in the last few days I've developed a nasty cough, and it wouldn't be fair to subject a cinema audience to it, so I rang up and asked if I could have a rain check on the 3 seats. Sorry sir, NO REFUNDS ! I explained that I didn't want a refund, and all I wanted to do was to use the money they already had towards a different showing at a later date. No dice. If I didnt attend tonight then I'd lose my money but if I did attend and coughed, I'd be asked to leave - LOSE / LOSE.

So, I stayed home, and my son went with his wife and put both of their coats on 'my' empty seat. Then he launched skype on his phone, and sat the phone on top of the coats. This worked really well, as I was still able to talk to my son and wife as if I were indeed sat next to them as I had paid to do. Had I coughed, I would have muted my volume. Simples and WIN / WIN !

This worked great for about 15 mins before the phone was switch off by a burly security guard and my son and wife were forced to leave. DISGUSTING. No wonder cinemas are failing. It wasn't like I was recording the film to upload later - It wasn't being 'recorded' at all. I was watching it in real time, from the exact same view in the exact same seat as I had PAID to be able to do.

They didn't specifically say 'No Skyping' at any point, so do I have a leg to stand on? Whats my best course of action to bring these capitalist swine scum down to their knees

How did you a4d the tickets?

I would write to the customer services and explain your issue, I bet you get a refund. I know it won´t bring back your evening, but as long as you explain everything and specifically say you had a cold, asked to move to another evening and they refused, so your son and wife did as you say with skype, not recording. I would have thought a refund would be acceptable from any main cinema.

Should have got everyone sick instead

WEll incase anyone is interested, I have had a result. Just heard back from a 'higher up' so to speak and this is what they have said.

The No Refunds policy is infact correct, however under the circumstances, they WERE at fault for not offering me an alternative viewing time. So they apologised for that.

Regarding the 'skype' issue, policy states electronic devices are not allowed to be pointed at the screen however again under the circumstances, they understood why we had done it, and recognised that there had been no attempt to 'conceal' the phone.

They standby the 'kicking out' of my son and his wife, but have lifted their 'lifetime ban' from the cinema chain. I have also been refunded in full the cost of the three tickets to my card.

Result, but I wont be going back there again :)

Over here they thought some teenagers were recording a film in the cinema, police arrested them part way through, but turned out they were innocent, got in the papers, left some of the kids and parents pretty upset

I stopped going to cinema due their stupid "no food" policy. I mean seriously, are you cinema or are you a food market? You cant be both.

Cinemas would be great if you could just get rid of all the other people in there. Actually maybe they should just give everyone headphones instead of having expensive surround sound systems, then you wouldn't have the movie spoiled by the sound of other people talking and munching popcorn through it.....and coughing of course.

That's why I have a 60 inches 4k TV at home and I can eat, drink and wank while watching streams of the best blockbuster movies :stoned

Just wait for it to come on a torrent site or popcorn time
