Most people I know don't want the refugees to move her permanently. They want to help them with a safe place to go so they can escape the war zone that is their home. They want them to have somewhere secure to live until it is safe for them to go back to their country.

To me there is a big difference between a refugee and an immigrant.

Its as I thought, you don't know any muslim people and all you know of them are what you see on TV. I've met and know quite a few from a pretty good mix of countries. In fact my former neighbor was a pilot from Sudan, who also went to Iraq as an interpreter for our troops. Almost all of them I've met have been very good people.

I'll also tell you a secret, not one of them ever attempted to push their religion on me or preach to me, which is more than I can say for Christians.

In fact the only Muslim guy I've ever met in this country who was an asshole was a guy from Iraq. He had been there through the wars and you could tell he was affected by his experience. Even this guy was typically polite but certain things would set him off sort of like any soldier with ptsd.

Obviously there are Muslims on the other end of this spectrum but it's going to be an extremely rare amount in this country. People who come here are very well vetted, it's not a case of Muslims jumping the boarder and refusing to fit in like they have in Europe.

This is why you don't see it in the US. Even my friend from Sudan has said this. He first went to London and lived there 3 years while waiting to get into the US. He said in Europe it's completely different and he couldn't get a job and was discrimated aginst. This was b4 9/11 happened.

In the US he went to school, got a good paying job new has a wife, kid and owns a house.

Yes and Yes. I also live in a part of the world that accepted a large number of people from Asia 100s of years ago. They live in ghettos, uneducated, low paid and maintain a different culture. Lived in East London in an area that was flooded with Muslims, they refused to fit in and preferred being apart and change the culture of the area.

Wherever you live go live in the nearest predominately poor Mexican migrant area and see how a large group of migrants live.
