President Donald Trump is standing by his daughter.

On Wednesday, Mr. Trump shared his support for Ivanka Trump, whose eponymous brand has been dropped by retailers in recent weeks. He tweeted, "My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by @Nordstrom. She is a great person - always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!"

Last week, Nordstrom announced it would no longer sell Ivanka Trump products, citing "poor sales" as the reason for the changes. While the decision came on the heels of the president's executive order to ban immigrants from predominantly Muslim countries, the company insisted that it had made a business decision. Yet behind the scenes, a company memo expressed support for immigrants and highlighted its diverse employee pool (Nordstrom denied any connection). A source close to Ivanka told Refinery29 of the decision, "They couldn't handle the political pressure, someone new came in, and there was a change in the attitude toward the brand."

I couldn't agree with yo more. This is how it works. It's the American way. Trump's brand is doing their store harm, so time to dump them.

This is what I don't get.... People buy this shit. It's the same crap everyone else buys from the same crappy countries but because of the Trump name they are paying oh so much more for it. I don't believe the Trump brand is "great" - long before he ran for President I thought the Trump brand was tacky. I don't buy a tie from someone because I think they are good at business; I buy a tie from someone because I like the tie or I think it's high quality.

I get that he wants to defend his daughter, but he is the President of the United States. He can't just go after companies because they decide not to do business with his family.

Last week, his son flew to Uruguay to do business. He spent $97,830 taxpayer dollars on security, hotels etc. No word yet on if he is going to write the government a check or if they are just going to let it slide.
