Ideas to promote a web hosting/domain reg business?

So glad it's the weekend!

I'm working on a web hosting/domain registration business and the market is extremely competitive.

I've been trying to think of new ways to promote the business, but so far my efforts haven't provided any results.

This might be a strange place to ask, but I thought it would be worth a try :winkwink:

Can anyone suggest any ideas?

Create 'How Tos' for the noobs, also create a hosting/domain review site where you favorably review your own company against the big rivals.

Have you got an affiliate program? Do you have a cheap deal for the first domain purchased by a customer?

First month free would be good for hosting

Offer some discounts, deals, work with other sites.
