Number Stations
Ok conspiracy nerds... check this out.
Back in November bought an SDR Radio from Ebay. It's a USB box that turns your computer into a super-wide-band radio. I built a Planar disk antenna for it (I have no life), hung the ugly thing in the closet, and connected it. You can hear all kinds of stuff like the usual Short wave chatter. (Lots of "survival" and "preparedness" crazy stuff too). Lately though I think I am hearing more and more "Numbered Stations". They are mostly dead, but when they start, they play what sounds like awful music, or long tones, or banging frying pans for a few seconds, then, just short words or numbers that sound like “131. …. 71…. 9…. 9…. 70….70.... ", etc. Found this: They sound similar, and I seem to be hearing them more often. I'm no conspiracy nut, but sometimes..... *shivers*. Any other HAM/SDR's out there? PS: Software: SDR# http://www.rtl-sdr.com/wp-content/up.../09/Signal.png Hardware: RTL-SDR http://www.cnx-software.com/wp-conte...TL-SDR_USB.jpg |
One Time Pad (OTP)
It's encryption that can never be cracked and disgustingly OLD SCHOOL! No computer system that can ever be designed will ever be able to crack an OTP. |
great movie!!

Yep...OTP definitely...been around for ages and still in use by the CIA and other agencies...a lot are just old broadcasts used to fool listeners by spoofing or in case the stations are ever needed again (keeps up appearances of multiple agents in the field)
If I remember correctly most of the voices are just recorded machine voices similar to what the telco's used Ah for the days of Ham BBS's :1orglaugh |
