Heh, I have a 7yr old who watched Nintendo "walk throughs" from a guy named "Zach Scott", but then my kid discovered Minecraft (his entire class are nuts for Minecraft). Now every kid in his class watches some guy named DiamondMineCart (DanTDM). The kids love these guys -- I think even more than the games.

Nah, not DanTDM. I watched a short doc on the guy though. His entire business is to get up in the morning, get everything ready and start recording his gameplay. Then does all his video edits and gets it uploaded. He does a new video every single day and he makes bank from it. I saw at Christmas time that Chapters and some other bookstores were featuring a book he wrote -- since he cannot use "Minecraft" as part of the book he got around it by using the character he created, "Dr. Trayaurus".

I don't play games myself. But I know this stuff because I filter what my kid watches and how much time he is allowed to do it. There's more to life than sitting in front of a computer or the TV all day -- and some kids (and adults) live in front of it. I guess it's easy to do.

But these guys embraced an opportunity that others never saw, and turned it into a very lucrative career. You have to give them props for that.

Yeah, he wasn't always off the deep end. He just did video game play through's for a younger audience. He was like the first or earliest big video game streamer guys.

Yeah my son was into Minecraft for a long time and would always tell me of strange scenarios popping up, not to mention beggars constantly trying to get you to give them stuff or do work for them for free digging, etc.

The juice has been trying to end his career for awhile now. They control who is at the top. PewDiePie was one of those rare occurrences where he was able to get there without their permission.

I don't think these news articles are correct. Unless he solved the issue by going to another program, his ads are still up and running. No where near leaving. I also have not seen this story circulating in the youtube world.
