Trump Just Killed California?s High-Speed Electric Railway Project
Quote:
|
Yes our Governor in Florida Rick Scott STOPPED a $1.4 billion dollar payment to Tampa from Obama to build a high-speed rail to Orlando
Republicans DO NOT CARE about the American People... they care about their donors.. they do not want to advance anything except the military If all republicans dropped dead right now the world would be a better place.. sorry Mom |
They need that money to pay for Trump's trips, his sons' business trips, and security for all his family who are spread out
|
California has like $22 billion in reserves you guys can just pay this yourselves and FUCK trump
California is the only State in the union without ANY republicans in any leadership roles in government and guess what.. it was too long ago they said California was a economic disaster that could never be fixed Hint: Arnold was the governor... Now California is a machine.. if I lived in California I would consider secession from the US... |

Trump's Florida trips cost taxpayer money Quote:

What kind of retarded logic is that? Killing some project does not equate into backing from infrastructure jobs promise... He did not say that he will do ALL the projects or anything like that. Seriously, where do you get those type of stupid thing twisting reporters?

I make the trip from Sacramento to LA multiple times a year. They haven't upgraded the freeways between Sac and LA in the past twenty years since I started making the trip. It's horrible. Having this train would be fucking perfect. Too bad.

They just leaked the republican plans for the new and improved high speed train that will make america great again

OP your link reads like an op-ed...thats a flag for liberal fake news.
i will wait for more sources to confirm facts. unlike newnik, who automatically discards any media he disagrees with. :1orglaugh |
Payback for voting for Hilary Clinton.
|
Good! What a waste of money that would have been. We have bridges, highways and dams that need the money more than we need a train that serves a VERY small portion of the state.

You need to protect the fossil fuel producers, gasoline automobile makers and all the other holdouts from the last century.

As long as Republicans have a group to hate, and legally impact negatively, they are happy. They are cycling through brown immigrants, getting back at Democratic states etc. anti porn is coming down the pike. Trump signed the anti porn pledge, we'll see if he's worse than Bush, all signs point to yes! Trump likes to be the big obese man making people bend to his will. |

It would have been a total waste of money. Help the poor instead, right liberals? |

Going electric would also allow the Peninsula line to be the final link in the high-speed rail system that Gov. Jerry Brown wants to stretch from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Matthew Welbes, the agency?s director, told Caltrain officials in a letter that the delay would allow the grant ?to be considered in conjunction? with President Trump?s upcoming budget proposal for fiscal 2017-18. The delay doesn?t kill the project by itself. Trump administration deals a big setback to Caltrain - SFGate |
This would have been so awesome. But Trump just had to exact revenge on CA for not voting for him.:mad::mad:

Fuck yeah! They were planning on building it and running it at 150 mph 70 feet from my bedroom window.
|
Do you guys remember all the great infrastructure projects Obama and Peloci built with $800B in funding ??
Can you guys name a single project that made a difference to anyone ?? |

I am in favour for good transport. If it goes from SF to LA, it would be perfect. Can be very good for the region. More affordable houses that are easier to reach, creating new affordable sub cities, less pollution, no car parking problems and i think a lot of backpackers, low paid job workers and tourist will use it. Perfect for the working man, if it is done right.

California High Speed Rail Faces 50 Percent Cost Overruns - Reason.com
50% cost overruns and train sets made by Chinese? Thank fucking god he's cancelling it. Time to start fresh and un-fuck the project from a business point of view. |
Why can't california pay for it? I thought their economy was great?
|
Correction : Trump just stopped making the whole country pay for something that only benefits California - projects like this should not be federally funded
|

:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh Can't imagine why the federal government would see the terminal economic failure that is California as being a drain on the federal budget and a poor investment. |
The Airline lobbyists in Washington D.C. have kept our country from high speed rail for decades now.
I think we are the only civilized country on Earth that flies within it's own borders. Everyone else in the world rides on 200 mph trains and only flies when they have to cross an ocean. It's a disgrace that the Federal and State governments have blocked this since the 1970's because of airline company lobbyists money. :( And these tiny projects that are mentioned in this thread that are projected to cost millions and even BILLIONS of dollars? What a joke. We need bullet train service from coast to coast. I was born and raised in Florida. Driving from Tampa to Orlando takes about an hour. It's a very short distance on I-4. How the fuck can some company justify spending 1.4 BILLION in taxpayer money for that? For that much money, there should be a bullet train from Miami to Orlando to Tampa to Jacksonville. |
Quote:
I'll give you a little hint.. Things like this benifit people other than those from Cali, because people from other states and all across the world visit them. I'm glad for example that New Mexico gets federal money to support their roads because I don't like driving on shitty roads while traveling and they could never pay for good roads themselves. Just imagine if Cali kept all their excess tax dollars for themselves and didn't help pay for roads in states like New Mexico or Nevada or Arizona.. I bet they would have the money to build their train track.. |

I always look for an apartment near a center close by public transport. Those bullet trains from coast to coast i don't think it is profitable/affordable when there aren't enough big cities in between. All those projects in Europe cost more money than expected cause most choose to go with a little slower train and save money. And than we are not talking about the bad trains they bought, they felt apart cause they choose the wrong ones. For coast to coast a plane will be better, or it must be an iconic new sort of Route 66. |
long past time to stop paying for this boondoggle.

Meanwhile in a metro like Denver or New York we have pretty good public transportation however it's not going to be as easy to go from say Denver to Salt Lake City by public transport station because it's very far away and in another state. Meaning you typically need to rent a car or hop on an airplane ect.. It's just not the same as going from Paris, France to say Tours, France. |

Al railways always have been connected to other countries. A lot of cargo is going by train in Europe. I can compare to Vietnam, Thailand, Mexico, Brazil and many other coutries with good transport systems. The tourist love it, going from city to city. |

This would create jobs, encourage spending, and reduce pollution. Imagine people from Northern California taking the train down to Southern California for vacations and how much money that would generate. |

You need jobs? Stop taxing business and regulating business to death and causing the fucking capital flight exodus out of California thats been happening for a couple decades now. How about focusing on the single simple task of trying to stop yourselves from running the movie industry out of town as you have been for decades. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh |
high speed trains are so 2016... we're going to have Hyperloop soon* :winkwink:
Brno, Czech Republic - Hyperloop Transportation Technologies Inc. 10 minutes for 80 miles :pimp :glugglug *soon as in "as soon as we figured out how this works" :upsidedow |
