SSL certificate requires dedicated IP?
Hello,
Please give me a little help here guys. I have a server with 3 websites, all three have their own dedicated IPs. Now I want to install an SSL certificate in one of them. I have read that SSL certificates requires dedicated IP, but my doubt is: 1- Can I use the dedicated IP that I currently use in my website? Or I need to have a new dedicated IP exclusively for SSL? Sorry for the question, I'm a newbie :) Thanks!! |
If your site uses a dedicated ip then you can just buy the SSL and install it. No need for 2 dedicated ips per website. :2 cents:

I installed free SSL in my shared hosting without issue ;) |
Depends of your hosting provider. In some cases you can install on shared server, in other not. But a SSL requires a dedicated Ip. The conclusion is that no matter that you own a dedicated IP, is enough if your account is hosted on a server which have dedicated IP. :)
