Shark Tank really sucks now...

When the show came out it was really great! New original products, new companies, new ways of doing business and great concepts from people trying to get established in the business world.

NOW.....

It's just one hour long infomercial.

The applicants fall into 2 categories:

1) Marketing a pre existing product (most likely made over seas) that has a lot of sales, and they are on the show just for exposure.

2) A Service business, cooking, fast food, cleaning etc... that is already making bucks, and they just want to be on the show for exposure.

When is the last time you saw anything NEW or exciting on the show?

Where are the risky investments the Sharks used to do?

It's ALL safe and sound investments now, with no risk pre established companies from people that clearly don't need the money.

"We've made $ 480K this year, but want to hit 1.2 million." You hear that every week.

Who gives a fuck about somebody "struggling" at $ 480K a year. I wanna see the guy making $ 25K a year with a great new product that needs real exposure and an investment.

But not the Sharks. To get on the show you already need to making $1 M and show growth so they can rob you of 25% for the gift of being on the show. I swear some of these hard working business owners are real morons when the camera lights hit them. They walk out smiling, after losing 25% of their company like they won the lotto.

Sure there are a bucket full of success stories, coming out of the Tank, but I'd sure love to hear what happened to 90% of all the other losers that gave up their companies to these investors. I bet a large % are wiped out. It's so hard to make it in business and signing away 30, 40 or 50% of your business is insane.

These Sharks are really brilliant at what they do. I blame the business owners for being so stupid.

But, with that:

A BIG FUCK YOU! to Shark Tank for losing your balls for new innovations and new people that want to break into business.

oh, and Lori, BUY A NEW FUCKING DRESS! Every show she wears the same blue dress.

I like a good shart... :2 cents:

Regarding the blue dress, dont they all dress the same every show? They do that on Dragons Den (UK Version) simply for continuity. After all, you need to find the right number of correct length and correct resulting pitches to fill 1 hour, so its gotta be a compilation of sorts. That way they can cut pitches together how they like and it all looks like one day, even if its actually over a few weeks..

Busty2 02-26-2017 06:08 AM

They probably shoot many episodes on the same day, hence the same dress ?

Barbara Corcoran is one hell of a woman and this is the main reason I watch. She should be a role model for every woman who wants to start a business. If she was 90 years younger I would bang the hell out of her. (she is s amazing because she has a sense of humor and thick skin so can laugh at a joke made of her age).

That you have to have $1 million in sales just to get on the show is simply not true. Most of the people on the show don't have $1 million in sales. Yes, they do have people who have a lot of sales, but in recent episodes I have seen people who had little or no sales as well.

Can't believe she's on that show with a net worth of just $40 million.

Every business that comes on that show, whether they get a deal or not has to sign 5% of the business over to ABC / Disney for being featured on the show and the opportunity to pitch.

Paul&John 02-26-2017 04:07 PM

Haha reading the title I thought you are talking about this show https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanked where they make aquariums :D

False

Why are you lying again?

The Canadian version was the best

Paul Markham 02-27-2017 03:02 AM

Often O'Leary lets his greed colour his judgement. I understand he's not that good a businessman, his time with a toy company didn't go well.

The Canadian and UK ones are far better. They often reveal companies with a great product who need little more than a good site and traffic.

Yeah, but I wouldn't mind taking that Blue Dress off her and . . .

Never liked the show !:2 cents:

Neighbor 02-27-2017 02:49 PM

I feel bad for a majority of the people who go on there and get hosed. They have no business sense at all and think it's going to be a huge success. Some still benefit and wind up much better off then they were, but c'mon man, these guys are professional investors. Of course they are going to make out like bandits.... mostly because people put their effort into the wrong part of their business... instead of learning more about more

poncabare 02-27-2017 03:37 PM

was interesting at first

Correct. I never miss an episode and it hasn't been that long ago that someone trotted out the dreaded "pre-revenue", which I particularly love because it automatically invokes the dreaded ire of O'leary.

All reality shows suck and are designed to appeal to the lowest IQ - explains everything :thumbsup
