So I Just Watched 'Moonlight'...

It touched on so much it ended up being about nothing - Was it about being poor and black, or perhaps about being black and gay - It might have even been about drugs...

Worth watching - Not sure it lives upto the hype.....

Slowly but surely, Eddy...slowly but surely...

Drama movies about race and slavery: Guaranteed oscar.

Drama movie about a black kid, who is gay on top of that - TWO minorities covered - Oscar triggermeter went through the roof!

It's so obvious.

What i found the most appalling was the woman in her speech, with the two kids standing next to her, and she said "This little black boy and this little brown girl" bla bla bla.

Nicely done, bitch! You just put skin color into the heads of these small kids and have made them self aware like it is somehow important... Is this bitch insane?
Kids don't look at themselves as white, black, purple or green... they don't think about it! It is only the racial division propaganda that makes some retard adults obsess about it.

Why can't they leave race alone? Why this constant mentioning of skincolor? This sickening agenda its only here to keep wide spread racism alive, while it has actually been dead for a long ass time... Nobody cares anymore.

Who makes money out of keeping the race issue an issue? Black entertainers and rappers who glamorize being uneducated and trashy. Yes, those are just great role models for youth to aspire to. :thumbsup

Mike knowing that 45% of individuals do not pay federal income tax, should they have the right to vote on spending the money?

45% of Americans pay no federal income tax - MarketWatch

It doesn't matter if it's 'good or bad.' It's a dramatic film about black people and it filled the quota at the Academy Awards, or should I say the "Affirmative Action Academy Awards."

Black people didn't complain about only getting a couple awards this year because a black film won best picture.

It's getting really out of hand. Next year, will be a "white" film and the year after a "black film."

There will be a distinct patterns rising from this insane racial finger pointing.

Poor, Black, Gay . . . there must be something at #4 to mix them up making pairs and joints sound. Your guess?

Pretty good question and at first glance Id say no but then after thinking about it we are affected by a lot more than just money and how it is spent I would be more inclined to limit your voting if you are suckling the public teat but simply based on the anount of taxes you pay...no

ergo it's a 'Black' film for 'Black' people, right? Irrationally imposed upon white peeps like some sort of penance?

love how history written by white peeps is 'history', movies filled with and produced by white peeps are 'movies', schools filled with white teachers teaching history written by whites is 'education'.

pure and non-biased of course. not tainted in any way by that 'correctness' that presumes that white experience isn't the be all and end all of human experience?

heavens to Betsy/Samantha someone depicts a POV that isn't lily white. nothing a paleface could relate to there, not like the film could be judged on the merit of human experience or anything

true story: a Queens university classroom with a bunch of white women objecting to the fact that the booklist and curriculum of a women's studies class included quote/unquote "too many Native and Black women authors"

they wanted to learn about women, not any of that bothersome stuff

:disgust

I'm pale as fuck and my life has been so much easier for it

I think one of the reasons I've always been confounded by people who are afraid of difference is that in my family I am different. I'm really white. My dad is white, my mom is Mi'kmaq. I'm halfbreed, but aside from the fact that I don't burn ever or get wrinkles no matter how much I smoke and eat improperly or wear sunscreen only at the beach there is really no evidence of my maternal ancestry. I walk into a store in my scrub attire and no one follows me.

I see peeps who look like me everywhere, from the lowest lows to the highest echelons. Neutral. Certainly not an interest group.

I've had privilege up the wazoo that has been of benefit to me. privilege that was and is never afforded to most of the people I care about about and I find that unfair

there's no hatred of self in recognizing this

nor is there logic in seeing the narratives of peeps of different skin or culture as being different from me in any meaningful way other than, being different from me personally. so yeah don't get the fuss and refuse to play some contrived zero sum game
