Female roommates have no respect!
I think from now on I'm not having a roommate and I'll sleep in my fucking car!!! I live in a building with no rent control, my last roommate I told them I don't want guests because my landlords been threatening to raise my rent. Since my last roommate had a bunch of people all the time my apartment manager used that as an excuse to raise my rent assuming more than 1 roommate was staying there. She's lived here for less than 2 weeks btw!
So I moved in someone else because now that my rent was raised I couldn't afford to pay it on my own. I spent 2 solid months paying my rent on my credit cards to find someone who is totally cool about not having guests. I lowered the rent enough to where it would make up for the inconvenience for not having people over. The person I picked claimed they read books and designed comic books all day long and would never have anyone over because she works too much and she's more of a homebody, she also mentioned when she hangs out with her friends she goes to there place! I decided to rent to her because she was cool about having no one over plus she was ugly and nerdy so I figured she wouldn't be the type ot have over a bunch of guys because no one would want to fuck her. Day 3 after she moved in she has 2 of her friends spend the night she has a threesome with both of them from the sound of it. She didn't bother to ask if she can have anyone spend the night. She agreed to no guest policy before moving in. So I had a talk with her again about the no guests thing. 4 days later she said she's having some dude coming to see her and asked me if he could stay over I said no and explained why again!!!! She told me she was totally cool with that and understood. 2 days after that conversation the same guy I told her couldn't come over she brings home and he stays all night even after I said no. First of all this girl is a fucking whore, second I risk another rent hike having this tramp bring over every guy in town. She's basically living here for free her rent is so damn cheap and she knows the rules. I just wanted some peaceful nerd roommate like the picture she painted for me but I got some disrespectful idiot. Should I give her a warning if it happens again she getting a notice to leave or just give her a notice now? |
Stopped reading after room mate...don't have one.
|
Sounds like you need to move somewhere cheaper as you are not meant to have a roommate.
|
I think they aren't meant to have a roommate. It's not me that's the problem they have no respect for 1 rule that I have for a damn good reason. My last roommate gave some guy she meant the night before the keys to my apartment to find something for her I came home he was in my bedroom looking through my shit!!! I talked to that roommate about that she was cool and never had anyone over again for the 5 months she lived here. This roommate is an idiot with zero respect. In the 10 years I've had roommates this is the only one who does what they do and don't give a shit about anyone but themselves
If you think my 1 rule is unreasonable theirs lots of ads that say they want the roommates out of the house at 7am till 5pm during week days. I don't give a shit about anything else, I don't want my shit stolen, strangers in my house around my expensive camera equipment etc. I can't afford to move right now and this is one of the cheapest places in the county where I live. You'd be better off saying "This bitch is pain in the arse, however she pays most of the rent, so I live virtually for free, so happy days'? |
There's nothing worse than trying to have a room mate or apartment living even
Both are fucking stupid and everyone is garbage so fuck it |
Ugly and nerdy with pornstar potential, you thinking what I'm thinking? :2 cents:

Plot twist - OP fell in love with the fat nerdy roommate and 6 days in she's fucked half of the town except for him :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

You've got to pick your roommates better than this.
Did you just take the first person with tits that came along? |

Renters are slave to the landlord
|
I spent 2 months after the last roommate to find the best one I could find. I turned away allot of people because I was being very picky.

I spoke to her last night after her friend left and she told me she thought it was just no over night guests. I explained to her why I can't have guests at all and she said she understands and won't have anyone else over. It appears to be a miss communication. Now things are back to normal |
Wow I can't believe I said that 9 years ago. That roommate was a nightmare and I was the one she rented too. She's was pure evil!!! I lived in the closest and she had guys over daily and it was awkward because I was in the closet with no door and she would fuck the guys loud and I was right by her bed in the closet. I used to have to wait until she was done and the guy left to leave the closet. She never used to tell me when someone was coming over. I ended up making a bunch of money and moved out the first chance I got. She threatened me if I didn't move after 5 months. I was always so nice to her, she had no idea I hated her. She was kind of famous and her boyfriends where famous also. If they only knew she was a whore and fucked every producer in town

I've basically only lived alone or with people I've already known like long term girlfriends and my best friend many years ago back when we were younger and our priorities were bars, pool halls, racing cars, random chicks etc... or more of a crazy bachelor pad.
I've tried a temporary roommate twice in my life who I didn't previously know. First one was laid back but into witchcraft and only drank beer no matter the time of day so was happy to see that one go even though no problems just kinda got a weird vibe. Second one was basically perfect so never tried again as figured I'd be disappointed after that one being flawless. So I'd let a girlfriend move in or a friend if they got into a jam but pulling strangers from classified ads think odds aren't in your favor that lifestyles will mesh well and always a chance they will steal, drugs, etc... as you know nothing about them. Probably better to downsize than bet on stranger danger panning out well. :2 cents: |

I said this last time you posted about this and I will say it again. Not allowing guests is an unreasonable request. It just is. If I am paying part of the rent I want to be able to have my friends over from time to time. When you make unreasonable rules you are going to attract unreasonable people.
You would be best served moving somewhere where you can afford the rent on your own then these problems won't keep popping up. |

btw I think you are confused as to the difference between rent controlled and not. If your apartments rent varies depending on occupants and earnings you are in rent controlled. Not controlled is a fixed price every month no matter how many occupants or earnings.

It's an unreasonable and strange demand. If you don't pay her like an au pair, don't treat her like one.

re-evaluate your whole business plan, do something else for money.
If you cannot survive for all those years without roommates even when the rent is already low like you say, then you're doing something wrong. Time to change things up |
The problem isn't your roommate. it's you, your bitch ass and the lube free fucking you allow your landlord to give you. Raised your rent over some noise and people being there. I'm calling BULLSHIT. Grow some balls, learn the rental laws for your area and stand up for your right like a man.
Before responding to me with sad sack retarded excuse, know that I own multiple rental properties here in California, so I do know what for, when and how I'm allowed to raise rent on my tenants. So far everything you have said is laughable at best, a 1st day law student could defend you and convict your landlord if even a 10th of what you babble on about is true. |
Too many issues with room mates for it to not be your fault. Normal person can not have that many issues. Look at the mirror.
|
roommates... is this a student forum? And even when i was a student i had a 2 bedroom appartment for myself.
I thought that was the whole deal, going to live on your own so you could fuck without being disturbed. Start doing some serious work and/or rent an apartment in Thailand for 250 USD a month. |
good for you
one of our flatmates (a woman older than me) just took our (me + other flatmate) part of rent money and instead of visiting the landlord to pay the rent, she completely disappeared, reading messages but dodging calls, not responding to messages etc. she is a depressive alcoholic, recently developing an uncontrollable admiration towards the dodgiest dumb people (last time it was italian pimps. in the word's precise meaning). so i changed locks, i packed all her stuff, took a photo of her empty room with additional "GAME OVER, you stupid fuck". last weekend she took some of her stuff away, still owimg me about $3-400 (fraction of what she used to). i might as well let that go, it may worth $400 never having to see her again. new flatmate is a reliable old friend, so all kinda good now. |
that is all true!

My answer: I'd give up on room mates, make more money and become independent. If that doesn't work, see above comment. |
Move to the country and get a dog

I'm a landlord. As far as I'm concerned my renters are paying their rent, meaning the spaces they're renting are theirs. It's their home. If they want to have company over or an overnight guest it's their right to do so as long as their rent is paid.
Also, I can't just decide to arbitrarily raise the rent whenever I feel like it, there are laws governing such things here, and I'm fairly certain that similar laws would be in place where you live as well. You and your landlord sound like you both need a clue. |
