watched 'the purge: election year'... how to fuck up an entertaining movie series with propaganda.
I liked part 1 for what it was (good thriller), i liked part 2 because they went where everyone expected them to go in part 1 but didn't: More about the larger scope of different situations, you got the feel of the chaos in the city perfectly, plus a nice addition of the elite at the end with their sacrifice game.
So i watched this 3rd, and what the hell happened... The dialogue is so forced and unnatural all of a sudden because apparently they had to inject almost every conversation with political and race propaganda.
"You don't sneak up to a black man on purge night!"
I was literally put off by this and many other instances of forced dialogue... Purge night means everyone is on their toes and ready to kill, so what the hell does being black make any difference? "You don't sneak up to a guy on purge night" would be the logical thing to say. But they had to put in this racist undertone in there. Especially that character mentioned his race, or other peoples race, in EVERY single thing he said. Like some obsessed racist.
The perfect illegal immigrant. All the black people were all good guys. The white people with the exception of the 2 main characters were all evil. The senator chick who constantly said 'i do what i want!' (forced feminist propaganda) while the lead character just wanted to keep her safe... It made me cringe throughout and thought 'jesus bitch, stop being childish and shut the fuck up'.
This senator who is supposed to be Clinton was the worst. In the movie she is battling against the establishment Washington elite, while in real life Clinton IS the Washington elite! This alone was such a huge fail... Also the over the top insane religious racist republican.
One thing made me smile, all the way at the end.
When she is eventually elected, Purge night seems to go away and everyone seems happy. Then you hear a voice of the news: "The election result is also met with protests across the country, where they riot and burn cars"
In this movie the rioters are of course the 'racist' right wingers, but in real life the left extremist fascists are actually doing it for real! This made me smile :1orglaugh
So in short: They completely flipped the script with how it eventually went down in reality: Clinton is the establishment puppet, Trump the anti establishment candidate, and after he was elected leftwing extremists went crazy... Nice 100% failed propaganda message, retards :1orglaugh
