Ever seen a movie thats genuinely traumatised you... ???

I just have... The Mule (2014)

A smuggler who has swallowed a kilo of Heroin, has to hold out from having a poo to avoid getting caught for 12 days !!!! TWELVE FUCKING DAYS!!!

12 Days without taking a poo ! I cant even go 10 minutes !

On the plus side though, the scenes of the cop reaching into his shitty undies after he had crapped the bed and his reaching into the toilet at the end gave me a stiffy !

What movies have traumatised you?

No amount of words could ever properly describe the horrors I was subjected to.

When I was a kid is was the Exorcist.

Jenny BongaCash 03-24-2017 09:45 AM

All horror movies affect me unpleasantly. I just don't get the joy some people get from the way horror movies play with their nerves

Joshua G 03-24-2017 10:16 AM

i watched the first scene in saw II. turned it off & will never watch another saw movie ever again.

:upsidedow

2MuchMark 03-24-2017 10:20 AM

Hard to say. Movies that scared the crap out of me when I was a kid (Carrie, The Fury) don't scare me anymore. These days I prefer mind-bending trippy stuff.

Halloween - The Night He Came Home 1978

I was 6 and my "Mother" took me to watch it at the theatre. By that age I was already desensitized to real life violence, torture, skin burnings, scars, hospital stays in casts, watching people get beat, guns to the head, their teeth knocked out, blood, killing animals, watching others screaming in pain etc... BUT I will never forget that movie because it was the first time I saw a knife go into a body. It was a whole new level for me.

Before that I'd seen things hit bodies and break bones, bullets go into animals & wound them and/or kill them or whatever but I'd never seen a knife go into a body and cause damage it had never crossed my mind I kid you not. I was scared shitless during that movie and my "mother" was upset I kept closing my eyes and covering my ears so she quietly sat me on her lap, held my hands down under my legs and whispered "watch the movie".

I felt empowered after that movie and finally worked myself up to a frenzy some weeks later to getting a big knife out of the kitchen and threatning violence to stop violence. In my mind then I literally invoked the power I saw Michael Meyers had, I was Michael Meyers and I was going to do what he did to save my "mother" and it gave me strength, and it worked. It was the first time I really felt the power to change things and I remember screaming to be heard above my "moms" screams and the guy stopped hitting her and looked at me in fear and my "mom" did too and I felt power because of that movie and Michael Meyers. I ended up thrown against the wall & breaking a collar bone. That hospital stay was difficult I had nightmares every night screaming thinking Michael Meyers was walking down the hospital hallway mad coming to get me and it was my fault because I invoked him. Anyway I'll never forget that movie it was pivotal in my life in a good way no joke. Sorry for going on thinking of that movie that day brought back a flood of memories. GFY is a safe dumping ground. Excellent thread topic.

I would have to say it's hard choice between two movies. The first being "A Serbian Film" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwNLxAKS-Dw) and the second being "Dark Night Of The Scarecrow" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9BN-nT16nA).

The first is just beyond fucked up, period. The second was the first horror film I'd ever seen at age 6, and I lived on a farm The kills in that film traumatized me enough to be very leery of being in grain/corn silos for close to 15-20 years, or being outside on a farm after dark.

Se7en...

Only movie I ever wished someone actually prevented me from seeing...

When they pulled that head out of box at the end... It was not a happy moment...

And there's tons of nasty movies out there, but you know they are so that makes it different...

Was not expecting head in the box in this one...

When I was a kid, I convinced my parents to let me watch "Alien", because I was a huge Star Wars fan and that was the "next" space movie.... I couldn't sleep with out hiding under the covers for weeks after that...

No, because Hollywood ain't shit.

I tuned out years ago and I encourage you all to do the same :thumbsup

Nothing. I'm good at disconnecting. Even when shit happens to me. But when shit happens to a loved one that triggers me like bladewire & crocket at a trump rally. I was litterally n***** knifed by an actual n***** & I was only triggered on a Rochard level at a trump rally-- mainly because I had severed tendons in my hand & I just purchased a master built strat from the custom shop. But if shit ever happened to my wife we're talking mark prince level triggered by trump captaining an oil ship running a ground over an endangered species breeding ground.
