How to handle trolls?

How to handle trolls

I've been a working as a male cam model for quite some time now. Even though I might have a bad day - you don't always wake up on the right side of the bed - I usually try to remain positive and full of energy because the way I act affects my members. I try to be myself and keep on entertaining my members the usual way. The show must go on and whatever you do dance to let off some steam. But what to do with trolls?
So imagine you have one of those days when you receive a piece of bad news. You aren?t made of steel. There?s nothing you can do. You put on your best face and try to remain focused and motivated. In my case I have the luck of having my members who will brighten my day but there some people who feed of negative energy and try to put you in a miserable mood. Or they try think it?s funny, which, by the way, is not. Trolls are never good because they can ruin a good day. I will never understand how some people have a pleasure from making you feel uncomfortable. My first reaction would be to answer back in mean way but I quickly realize that it?s not something that represents me. So I try to remain respectful all the way because I don?t want to ever say something that wouldn?t represent me.

Assign one of your fans in the room to admin privileges and the fan will ban the trolls for you as they come in. This way you focus on your show and making money :thumbsup

Also have written room rules pop up that state "possitive energy only lets all have fun!" or something like that. Then nobody is suprised when they're blocked for being nefative or rude to you or each other.

I don't get why anyone actually cares about some nameless asshole that you're never going to meet in person and that lives thousands of miles away from you.

For that matter why does anyone even care about some nameless fan? Unless you can use them or they're putting money in your pocket why should anyone give a shit?

Word of advice,

1) Love the people that pay you.
2) Be polite to the people that might pay you.
3) Ignore everyone else.

How to handle trolls?

Simply ignore them. It is as simple as that.

some short sighted and broken advice right there...

How does that work if you are a business owner exactly? What's love got to do with it? Is there really a list of people you should be polite to? If you are selective to whom you are using your manners to I assure you nobody will respect you. Ignoring everyone who doesn't pay you effectively makes you a servant. Whatever self help book you read burn it...

Barry-xlovecam 03-28-2017 05:54 AM

Make the trolls appear as fools to the rest of your room or just ignore them.
Get a few in the room to join you in a troll beat down contest -- that can be entertaining ...
Our cam performers can just boot them (ban) <silent boot>.

TheSquealer 03-28-2017 06:06 AM

uhm.... try reminding yourself that you're an adult?

CaptainHowdy 03-28-2017 06:15 AM

Indifference, as hard as that may sound, does the trick ...

Everyone that works for himself is a defacto a salesman. If they can't differentiate and qualify between people that are going to waste their time and those are going to buy then they're not going to stay in business for long.

Ultimately it's called experience and knowing how to use your brain. Kind of like I know you're trying to troll me because you're bored and looking for some attention.

Sorry that you encounter trolls

I made a few months ago an little article what kind of visitors are entering cam rooms, and how to categorise them ( for commercial value ) and the troll is part of it too. I am going to share it anyway with you:

The choise between meeting society`s challenges and finding a life partner is a conflict that some lucky people may not need to ever consider. To our videochat members, this is often a driving force.

But what is videochat? Some would argue that it is an environment where women undress and men invest sums of money for a service they could get for free on the internet. Others can say that for these amounts of money, members could opt for the physical touch of a real, non-virtual person. Our perspective is different. We built it by analyzing tens of thousands of connections between webcam models and members. We discovered that most of our members are competent, career-driven middle-aged men. They are perfectly capable of sustaining complex human relationships and a healthy life style. They may have families or may be divorced. Sexually, they are turned on by practices considered normal by the Western society at large. So, what do they receive from video chat?

1: A beautiful narrative: While life runs chaotically, this simulated environment allows members and models to create love stories that fit a basic scheme: the member offers the model tokens, the model opens to the member. They share life stories, learn each other`s intimate desires, tell each other how their days went. They chat, undress, have some fun and then continue chatting for hours at an end. The member projects all his deep emotions onto the model: love, frustration, joy, anxiety, sadness, jealousy, fear, hope – everything he cumulated in his past and could not unload onto a real person, for fear of abandonment. The model genuinely receives them and offers a gentle touch to the member`s broken heart. Like in any relationship, they may have fights, reconnect and so on. It`s the ultimate girlfriend experience with an eject button that never needs to be used. It`s a therapeutic narrative, where that inner voice of the member – subconsciously telling him that he does not deserve to be accepted by others – gets silenced by the mere framing of this interaction. Having this convention set up between them allows for a stronger flow of real emotions, leading to a healing process for the member. Free porn is a solitary experience, while paying girls for sex would never lead to this complex exchange of human emotions and catharsis.

2: The savior complex: Most members have a clear understanding of the model`s aim of earning money and connecting with multiple paying members. This member sees himself as special because of this and finds a girl he could also perceive as special. They establish this convention that, even though the model needs to perform on a webcam, they have a strong and intimate connection, that others could not get. He would do everything in his power to support the model, usually because, somewhere in his life, he failed somebody who depended on him.

3: Sexual inadequacies: Some members do have special fetishes or needs that they feel ashamed to express in their real life. Having them brought to life in this safe virtual space allows them to balance out their lives and better function in society.

4: Control: Some members feel an expressed need to control the model, while not engaging themselves too profoundly. Applying this in real life would often bee a too powerful experience for them, so they would rather do it through a webcam

In conclusion: To understand the success of video chat, we must understand our audience. At first, you may be tempted to see them as a select few fetishists who are too scared to fulfill their fantasies in real life and are somehow oblivious to free internet porn. In reality, videochat is thriving because it panders to a blanket of members vaster than you could imagine: the everyday man, living a balanced life, with a somewhat broken heart, who needs to share his deepest mostly positive emotions in a way that could heal him, without complicating his private life or making him feel guilty, so that he could heal himself and help somebody make a living.

The videochat member is less like the trenchcoated pervert in a back alley and more like the nice guy leaving the cute waitress a generous tip

Words of advice,

1) Be polite to everyone, at first

2) Adore the people that pay you, even when they don't

3) Trolls are attracted to beauty & light, each one you attract is a compliment to your spirit.

4) When you're on cam & a troll reveals itself smile while quickly banning them.

Trolls are attracted to beauty & light.

Trolls are damaged & project darkness, they feed on any darkness you reflect back (anger, sadness, insecurity, regret, self doubt, anxiety, etc.)

Lastly, the person below is your typical troll. Burn his image in your mind.

When a troll has a face he loses his power.

When a troll reveals itself to you remember the images of the troll below and laugh inside :winkwink:

this,., i have seen 1-2 moderators per room.,

they ban the trolls, rude guys.

SophyDavis 03-28-2017 08:36 AM

It's not that easy to simply ignore them. It's hard for someone to pay attention to the real members and have a conversation with them while idiots just keep spamming your room. And above all that, as a girl, they can get you down. I've got used to them, I don't pay attention to them anymore, but it still hurts when you get criticized.

Being a psycho in return, usually puts most trolls in their place.

once they realize things aren't funny anymore...they usually move on.

If ur a guy cam model (gay?) ...the hate is prob from a lot of borderline closet-gay , trying-to-act-straight guys. Maybe their mad because they secretly like you, even though their mommies told them to hate all gay people.

look at that, you prob got the best advice of the day from a

A typical troll wants attention. Once you give it to them they got what they want. Give them your ire they feel that they've won. Just be nice to them and stick at what you do and they'll lose interest.

Now that is constructive thinking. Every person has its breaking point, even trolls. If you are indeed capable of penetrating his shield and making sense to him, he might turn around. That being said, its a small chance, but worth a try... In the best case, he would become a life time whale.
