Don't become a cam model...

Don't become a cam model if you're not mentally prepared to accept what you do and be true to yourself. Don't become a cam model if you can't admit to yourself and to others that you like this job. Don't become a cam model if you don't know what you're getting yourself into. Don't become a cam model if you're expecting to make lots of money and not really work for it.

If you think that working as a cam model is easy and people won't find out what you do, then you're wrong. If you want to keep it a secret, that means that you're not ready to accept what you do. And if you can't accept what you do, that means you're ashamed of it and you shouldn't be doing it at all.

Lots of cam girls complain that their friends and family found out in some way what they're doing. You knew from the start what this job implied and you knew that at some point people are going to notice the changes: more money, different clothes, a different attitude. They will become suspicious and they will find out.

Be true to who you are!! Accept that this is a normal job and don't be afraid of what people might think of you!! You're not doing porn. you're not getting payed to have sex with anyone, you're not doing anything that you don't want to do.

Bladewire 04-05-2017 10:33 AM

If you're lazy and desperate for cash don't become a cam model.

I tell models understand what you are getting into -- rather than painting unrealistic pictures.

john1975 04-05-2017 12:09 PM

Don't become a cam model, if you don't know how to act 90% of the time.

But if you have it in you mentally, go for it.

adultchatpay 04-05-2017 12:30 PM

in short, cam models are also humans.

Why are you looking down your nose at girls who choose to do porn?

My Wife did well over 500 movies and was more than happy to be paid (and paid extremely well I may add) to have sex on film... & most importantly, at no point in her seven year career did she ever do anything that she didn't want to do :2 cents:

Many girls are under the delusion that men should take care of them since Daddy always did, and all the boys find her pretty.....so I love it when reality hits them like a giant load of jizz in the face.

Then again, if you think laying on a bed all day and spreading your legs is real "work" then go flip burgers for a single 8 hour shift and get back to me.

since you brought it up :

1) always look hot and special....like your better than the rest of the trash on there.

2) tease tease tease... and mention everybody that tips you.

3) don't go nude...until the very end (if that) ...and enough tips have come in.

4) if you do go nude , don't ever drop the hot and special look...it's where a lot of women make a mistake.....they think "ohhhh guys got what they want....so now i can drop my guard...and act slutty... and wait for all the tips to come in".

"Accept that this is a normal job and don't be afraid of what people might think of you"
really? normal job, a normal job is a job that you work for and not fill a form in the internet and show your pussy to the world.

6) If you're the sweet type, guys go crazy for genuine, cute laughs.

Nice spiel but what do your tax returns say about your work?

I'm not trying to be a troll as much as I'm trying to be the devil's advocate. In my experience from what I've seen is that more often than not the average cam girl makes bullshit money even after months of hardwork. Whereas even a plain looking woman that escorts can make serious money if she just maintains a friendly attitude towards her johns.

Plus escorts tend to have a vastly easier time keeping their work secret from family and friends.

ruff 04-05-2017 07:14 PM

After reading this thread I have decided not to become a cam model.

Only the government gives a shit if you pay your taxes or not. What the rest of the world wants to know is how much did you earn.

So does the tax return show that the yearly earnings are grossing over $150k or more a year or are they showing a lousy $15k or less a year?

Therefore here's my advice,
Don't be a cam whore until you get a guarantee in writing of how much the minimum is that you're going to be paid each week. If the site only promises commission and starts that bullshit about "how you market yourself" then walk away. Because if you're going to have to do your own "marketing" plus do the webcam work then you don't need their site or software.... Any girl can set her own webcam up and whore herself on facebook, she doesn't need a site to do it for her.

Or better still just be an escort. The money is better, it's upfront cash, the girl can keep her work a secret and the hours are far far far better.

What are the looks for a cam model? I see successful models in all shapes and forms :)

MFCT 04-06-2017 12:32 PM

The former camgirls who contact me, their biggest issue is with unauthorized videos of their shows still out there on the internet, and their constant frustration in trying to get them taken down. "Its kinda ruining my life."

I give them a pep talk and direct them to Ambercutie forums, where people there are much more adept with handling those kind of problems than I am.

Great thread, by the way. I go into much more detail on this topic in an article on my site

How bout you sweetie, 'notinmybackyard' .. ? how much have you made in 2016, and how much in taxes are you paying ?

The same can be said about almost any business venture. Over the years I have shown a number of people how to make money in this business and none of them have followed through with it because they didn't want to put in the work.

From what I've seen I think CB has a dedicated DMCA team so this isn't a problem for the models? I'll search a models username and get the same network of fake sites but none with any shows on them, very very rarely I'll come across a show or two but almost never. I'm searching guy models it might be different for females I dunno.

I'm not going to post a copy of my tax return but otherwise I don't have a problem telling anyone what I earned last year. I earned just over $200k cdn. last year which isn't bad considering I'm mostly retired. (sue me I'm a great grandfather) But in all honesty just over 70% of that figure is from non-smut sources. As for the smut it's mostly from retail sales and very little from video production these days.

As for the jealousy,
None what-so-ever... However I got started in this biz apx 5 decades ago and I've met hundreds, perhaps even a thousand, different people that try to make a buck off this business without ever actually getting their hands dirty, so to speak. Most are no better than a pathetic suitcase pimp that calls himself the girl's manager and wastes everyone's time and kills the income potential of the girl.

It's 2017 and literally everyone can setup a skype account, set up a paypal (or interact) account and then rinse men on facebook. It's an easy enough no brainer that anyone can do inside of 20 minutes.

Now my commentary is about these cam sites is simple and to the point.... What are the studios/sties providing the girl with that she couldn't do for herself?
  • Are they ensuring her shows won't be posted all over the net?
  • Are they giving her a guaranteed base income?
  • Are they handling her promotion and branding?
If a studio/site isn't doing any of the above then why should the girl give them a cut of her earnings? It's like tipping out the pathetic bouncer at a strip bar that does nothing except prop up the walls.

don't become a cam model unless you're amused by a bunch of peeps who extrapolate their own experiences as universal truths and/or wax authoritatively on work they don't understand and have never done

really Jel should be weighing in here. I hear he's gained quite the following

Typically, girls from MyFreeCams, which I used to promote for quite a long time. I don't know if MyFreeCams has any sort of DMCA team like CTB. The girls should know better than me.

In any case, people at ACF are one of the best resources for camgirls, and former camgirls (campeople?), who need assistance and to find out information. I'm happy to help in whatever limited way I can, but they're much better off getting help at ACF.

Very good advice for all girls thinking of becoming a porn model.

Jenny BongaCash 04-07-2017 07:51 AM

It is correct for any job. Don't do it if you don't like it
