He's not a bad actor, but I think he's recent crazyness and over-exposure have doomed his career for the future. He should stick to small dramas for a few years and build his acting cred. He should avoid all low budget action and action-scifi movies for a long time otherwise he'll never rise again.

It was only playing on one screen in one theater and there was only one showing per day. There was also no advertising done for it. I had read that it was basically done this way to satisfy a contract.

No, the movie was made and a distribution deal was struck. The movie had a limited release in the US and then was going to be made available on DVD and VOD, but as part of the contract with the distribution company, it had to be released in the UK. I don't know all the particulars, but apparently, the deal involved it needing to be released in the UK before it went to VOD (or something of that nature) so they released it on one screen in the UK simply to fulfill the contract so they could release it on DVD and VOD.
