Here's the thing, Torrent technology is not illegal. What you torrent with it, use it for is another story.

uploading is illegal, downloading is not.

Key problem with film/tv series , how it's not available easily as any other digital content(music,games,applications) so that is why piracy is larger then anywhere else.
But i watch now only TV. as all new TV series and movies is simply recycling of previous ones.

I prefer to watch new movies at the cinema, but I don't see anything bad to download the old ones sometimes :D

Torrents are full of viruses and mislabeled shut and spam. So many easier & reliable ways to watch free movies than torrents, Youtube is one

TV shows seem like somewhat of a victimless crime to me although I'd wager that advertisers would beg to differ.

Outside of that, there are a lot of older b-horror movies and similar sleaze that are only available on torrent. They've either never made DVD/Blu Ray or are rare finds (ie stupid expensive because tapes are a "thing" again) on VHS.

Viruses is not an issue for video files. Plus most sites have "trusted" uploaders etc.

Imagine yourself as the producer of a video/music/whatever, and then picture someone posting your work on a torrent and allowing anyone that wants too have access too it :Oh crap
