Trump wants to make the biggest tax cuts in history and also pay off the national debt in 10 years.. To pay off the national debt you need roughly $2 trillion surplus "TAX DOLLARS" a year. Chump change right? (our yearly GDP is 17 Trillion) Meaning it would be like 10 Trillion dollars just to get 2 Trillion dollars in taxes (assuming straight 20% taxes)

To make things more "republican" (I 'm using republican instead of insane because it seems to be interchangeable) he wants to also cut $2 trillion in taxes per year. He claims the taxes will pay for them selves by economic growth which is Reaganomics and every time Republicans have enacted it, it's failed miserably.

What this means is Trump's math is using the same $2 trillion dollars (almost 10% of our current GDP) to make up for lost tax revenue "AND" pay off the national debt. Meaning the reality is, to do what he's promising would require an extra $20 trillion dollars added to our GDP each year to get $4 Trillion dollars in surplus taxes.. (IE we would have to more than double our nation's GDP to make Trumps fantasy come true)

Government Revenue: the Sources. The governments in the US collect about $4.6 trillion in a year taxes. Income tax is where governments collect the most tax: in federal, state, and local income tax they will collect about $2.6 trillion in 2017.

Currently the entire tax income of the federal govt is 4.6 Trillion a year from taxes.. To do what Trump promises would require almost 100% of the current tax dollars collected every year..
