Fox News has retracted a story it published on May 16 alleging that an FBI forensics examination showed that Democratic National Committee staff member Seth Rich leaked work emails to WikiLeaks before he was fatally shot.

More like it got shut down. You'd have to be a complete moron to believe anything other than he was murdered for his involvement. I'm well aware you are complete moron OP and I've mentioned it many times but I just thought I would point it out again.

Of course they backed off the story since they can't officially confirm the forensics on his laptop. It's a federal murder investigation, the FBI isn't gonna give interviews about it.

Fox Retracts Story That Sparked Conspiracy About Slain DNC Staffer

"The Daily Caller, a conservative news outlet, removed their story based on the Fox News report without any retraction or editor's note explaining its disappearance from the Internet."

"Within a day, one of its main sources — a private investigator working with Rich's family, but paid for by a conservative Dallas millionaire — recanted his story. The family has since sent him a cease and desist letter."

"Subsequent reporting by NBC News and other outlets also found that the local police investigating Rich's death never even gave his laptop to the FBI, so there was no way Fox's purported source could have seen it."

Seth Rich's family wants nothing to do with this probably because they fear for their own lives.

Rich?s family has maintained that there is no proof connecting his death to the DNC leak. ?The Rich family is tired of having to respond to accusations,? Brad Bauman, a family spokesman, said in a statement. ?The burden of proof is on Mr. Dotcom to either prove he has evidence or face the consequences of damaging Seth?s good name and creating more emotional hardship on a grieving family. The family is not going to entertain his ridiculous, manipulative and completely non-credible statements.?
