If the President is impeached there is a trial in the Senate. Eventually, the Senators will vote on the charges that the President faces. It takes 67 votes on one of the charges in order for them to be actually "impeached" and removed from office. Clinton faced two charges and neither of them got the needed 67 votes.

This is why the likelihood of a successful Trump impeachment is very slim.

Clinton was impeached by the house and acquitted in the senate. Do you seriously not know this?

Rochard 05-26-2017 11:52 AM

Being impeached means you can be removed from office.

Nixon resigned because he was going to impeached, and rightfully so. He was guilty of some serious crimes, and also guilty of the cover up and obstruction of justice.

Clinton, on the other hand, was ridiculous. This was an investigation into a real estate investment that somehow included questions about his personal sex life which never should have been allowed to happen. In any court of law this would have been dismissed. He was charged with lying under oath.

Trump hopefully will be impeached, and also removed from office. Some people are saying he will not be removed from office because the Republican government is in control. This might not be the case after mid terms. Just for a moment let's pretend the Republicans remain in power... It's still very possible that the Republican party, who has never fully been behind Trump, will kick him to the curb and remove him from office. (LOL - what Republican wouldn't want Pence as President?)

I believe Trump is unfit to serve as President in any capacity. It's become painfully obvious now too. He has accomplished NOTHING in the past four months. What little he has accomplished has been horrible - great, he removed us from the TTP but that only means the TTP is moving forward without the United States, giving us no future bargaining position.

baddog 05-26-2017 12:30 PM

Impeached for what Richard?

baddog 05-26-2017 12:31 PM

Didn't Hillary want out of TTP also?

shiraz9944 05-26-2017 12:42 PM

Exactly Lloyd, impeached for what? Not being liked by the media? Hard evidence please, not "contact" which they have no idea what the contact was. HC also had "contact" with the russians leading up the election.

On impeachment, not going to happen. You have to have like you said above 67 votes in the senate after you have 2/3 in the house. It is practically impossible for the Dems to win 125 house seats and 20 senate seats in midterms, which means you have two years still even then.

THen you get Pence LOL.........even more hardcore conservative, a true believer in charge.

It had nothing to do with an investigation into realestate. He was sued by Paula Jones for sexual improprieties/sexual assault and this is what lead to him lying under oath about Monica. He was impeached for lying under oath to the court and to the congress and not for receiving a blow job from Monica or even sexually assaulting Paula Jones.

For the present this is the one that has legal teeth. For violating the constitution and receiving monies from his business enterprises around the world. He would not divest himself from his business and this is in fact the basis for the current ongoing impeachment process that is making head way and which he is arguably, since attorneys or judges seldom agree on what is law and what isn't, guilty of.

None of them do, and when you inform them they're too lazy to Google it and say "fake news", they are that brainwashed, seriously.

When Trump is charged, they'll go-to the grave saying it was a conspiracy. Their ideology blinds them with hate & victimization, and from facts & logical reasoning.

There is no ongoing impeachment process. What news are you getting? Are you saying the Russian stuff is fluff and absolute nonsense and that his business interests are the REAL problem. The Russia stuff is a non issue, it's dead, there is no proof of anything. The judges have no say in the impeachment process, if the supreme court ruled he did something unconstitutional, if the house and senate fail to reach the needed votes (which they never will) nothing happens. No court, not even the Supreme Court can remove a president.

There are one or more orgs working on putting a case together for him being in violation of the emolument clauses in the constitution. It may never come to fruition as the house is the only institution that can impeach a President. On the face of it he seems to be in clear violation of these clauses.

I think a lot of Democrats see Pence as a better choice because he will act more presidential and dignified. In theory, if Trump were removed, Pence could clean house and he would have an administration that doesn't feel like it is always on fire.

However, I fear Pence more than Trump because, white Trump is a boorish and wildcard, Pence is a full-blown crazy person. He is also a hard right-winger. With him in the White House, the GOP may move further to the right and that is never good. This is one of those "be careful what you wish for" situations.

Mostly because there is an investigation. More than one in fact. This started with the FBI "looking into it" to a full blown investigation. Now a special special prosecutor. The next step is to start calling it witnesses. Some people are already trying to cut deals.

Now the President has hired an attorney, and creating a war room.

You are insane man, believing that shit. So you believe the pizzagate thing with podesta and HC's campaign right? The CP stuff? Obviously if you believe all those things that haven't had one shred of proof behind them. I can make accusations all day, without proof they are just that..............nothing. Rigging an election LOL......Obama said from before until even after Trump won it was not rigged, there was nothing there. Now he's gone and you all are going nuts.

You get small hands. They are sorta weird.

shiraz9944 05-27-2017 09:54 PM

I for one can't wait until you get what you want. Pence will stuff every liberal's nightmare down your throats and congress will pass every single damn thing he wants. Appoint another justice, completely tear down everything Obama has done in 8 years and congress will do all of it and there isn't a damn thing you or anyone else can do to stop him. He will own the court, the WH, both houses, 3/4 of all governorships, 2/3 of all state legislatures........where are all the dems? Where are all the leaders? You let a Rep. that body slammed a reporter win by 8 points!!!! Fuck man, the Democratic party is basically dead.

Why is everyone in the Trump administration lying about having contacts with the Russian government? Why is Trump's son in law discussing secret communication lines when they can just pick up the phone?

Last week it was reported Roger Stone had all of the hacked documents before Wikileaks did.

WTF?

Now that the supreme Court outlawed racial gerrymandering things will change with Congressional seats.

We didn't get "voted out" of anything winning the majority by millions of votes. The Electoral College failed to do their job and they need to be eliminated. You can't even get healthcare repeal done without taking away health insurance for 28 million people to give a tax break to the millionaires (another thing you'll never be).

Trump is a proven crook and your own party (which you pretend not to be a part of Mr. I'm an Independent cuck) are turning on Trump as the subpoenas fly out if the Congressional committees, and FBI, investigating Trump :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh

I seriously don't think its funny that Trump won. No one should. I think it is sad and pathetic. A reality TV star is President of the USA. It's a fucking embarrassment. Honestly, Democrats couldn't put someone out there that could soundly defeat him.
The bar couldn't have been any lower for a Presidential election and you STILL couldn't win.

Even Trump says she should have won.

Hillary had to cheat against a fucking hardcore socialist for Christs sake. (Cheating which all of you recently self appointed "Defenders of the Truth and All Things Integrity" don't seem to have a problem with)

You'd be wise to stop the typical Democrat "anything and everything is to blame except Hillary, her continual criminal investigations, lack of a message that resonated with voters and poor campaign choices" and focus on doing some political good so that you can be remembered for something come election time besides incessant sniveling and whining and complaining and finger pointing.

At this rate, with the non stop crying and whining and finger pointing and blame, the next Republican nominee is could be Charles Manson or a 1/2 retarded, meth addicted, schizophrenic homeless man walking around with no pants and underwear and Democrats will not be able to beat him.... because they'll be so fed up with the non-stop crybaby bullshit and people who care so little about their own country and that harbor so much hostility as people that they spend every waking moment rooting for their own President to fail.... rather than actually talking about Jobs, the economy, immigration, trade, healthcare, ISIS etc.... you know, the stuff VOTERS thought was important.

Trump campaigned for the electoral college. Hillary campaigned for the popular vote. Get over it. Trump won by playing the rules of the game. Further, more EC votes flipped against Hillary than any other candidate.
