What is a good setup to get perfect sound out of PC

I am looking at a pair of KRK RP5G3-NA Rokit 5 Generation 3 Powered Studio Monitor, I assume next step is a good D/A instead of a soundcard?. any recommendation ?. I am trying to play FLAC encoded.

This set up is not to play games, just to listen to good old classics

Rokit's are more meant for EDM and heavy bass. If you want to be hearing the nice higher frequencies of old classics, you are not going to want those. I have a pair of Yamaha HS8 and they are absolutely beautiful, they also make a HS5 which is more your size.

There are lots of great options for audio interfaces, really depends on what you want to do with it. I have a Mbox 3 which works great with everything but that's overkill for you. Check out a Focusrite Scarlett, should be fine.

it´s the surround sound you want, a full contrast of bass & treble. You´d be good with any sound card, the nvidia would make the difference from the pc. Those speakers are decent quality :thumbsup

Thanks for this. Yamaha HS8 are in the same price range and has very good reviews. Need to get a good D/A next.

bollocks, even a perfect audio home system with sound proofing on your walls is only going to be $20k :2 cents:

no a good entry audio system will cost 20K a perfect one will cost 500K...for example if you want perfect sound you have to start with the perfect power supply....electromagnetic interference from a neighbors appliance will propagate through the sound system, you need your own private utility power pole...thats gonna set you back like 50K alone and it does not even play music :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh
