As a client I will not give any more info to airbnb except email, photo and fuckin CC. That's even more than Booking is asking for.

When you rent an hotel room overseas they want to copy your passport , domestically the hotel/motel will want ID -- so what is the problem? That's the way things are.

You share your info with someone you will not see again, you give your personal details to someone you know nothing about. I don't trust concierges. In fact, in EU there are case people find out later they have loans they never asked about.

There is nothing what you can do about it, it's either ID or no service. There is no law which would bind someone to provide you service. In germany, there is now even law which require affiliates to show ID in order to get paid.

See? It must me something soon to protect people from 'services' that collect personal info.
I do not fucking know anything about Airbnb. If it was asking me to submit my IDs I would never do that and stayed with Booking or started simply calling places to rent.

As to Upwork, it's total BS, no bank would do that video chat shit recording, it's epic what internet has become.

As a Generation X I refuse to give away my personal info to someone I don't even met, heard and have protection against. I'm not a robot yet to just show up my ass for a scan.
