At Op, I don't really get this. I have created an account and I can see you can write posts and stuff like reddit and if the post is popular you can make money etc but is that it? or am I missing something?

What if steemit.com goes offline for some reason?

I dont see the website going far but the way people on reddit and youtube are saying stuff about this i bet it gets pumped up a fair bit.
