Delta Airlines Support Dog Viciously Attacks Passenger

You never know with animals

A chocolate lab viciously attacked a passenger on a Delta flight, leaving the victim with severe facial injuries and the dog's owner -- a U.S. Marine vet -- badly shaken.
The incident occurred Sunday at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta, as passengers were boarding the flight.

Ronald Kevin Mundy Jr. boarded with his emotional support dog, a chocolate lab/pointer mix. According to witnesses, Marlin Termaine Jackson was sitting next to the dog and feared something was up when the dog started growling. He reportedly asked the owner, "Is this dog going to bite me?"
That's when the dog attacked, mauling Jackson's face, biting several times.
Jackson was helped off the plane, his face drenched in blood, according to witnesses. He's in stable condition.
After the incident an eyewitness reportedly heard Mundy crying, saying, "I know they're going to put him down."

Exactly what I was thinking :2 cents:

The shape of the jowls and top of the head looks pitbull

This is a lab/pointer mix, notice the jowls & head shape is different

He reportedly asked the owner, "Is this dog going to bite me?"

Why didn't the owner take control and stop the dog if the person had to repeatedly ask?
My next question is if the dog was trained by an organization that provides service dogs or did he just get a certificate online for his pet dog like many do so they can take it anywhere.

Somebody is going to get sued -- big time. Delta was required to let that dog on the plane because of federal law. Service (all) dogs should be muzzled in confined place like airplanes or public transportation. IDK if Delta is negligent in not requiring that -- seems so to me.

Yep I saw a news story on tv. Only 12 states have laws against fake service dogs

Laws aim to crack down on fake service dogs - CBS News

Ray Charles coulda seen this coming....being that the only criteria for an emotional support animal is that the owner claim its an emotional support animal I am amazed this hasnt happened before now...a LOT. This will change things I will bet...now they will have to be professionally trained.

That pic you posted is a lab/wire haired pointer mix.

The dog from the story has a smooth coat like a pointer, but the small pinned back ears are definitely pit bull.

This may be considered politically incorrect or insensitive, but if you can't get through a plane flight without having your dog sitting on your lap for emotional support, maybe you shouldn't be flying.
