Anyone know any artists available for commision work
I am looking for some one to paint some big pieces for me.
Like 15'x6' and so on. Tattoo , pinup, graffitti , modern. I have huge white walls that need covering.. Let me know:) |

I can do that :) see sig and then Illustrations :) |
I used to do a number of large peices in spray paint...I've done some great work...ask rick...

No...I don't...I once did a scene of demons in a friends garage for a halloween party...no pics have survived...
But I'll repaint your house if its fucked up...and buy all the paint... Rick has caps (special tips intended for turning spray cans into the tools of an artist)...What type of finish is on your walls? Matte? Semi-Gloss? If so you'll need to primer the walls...I worked on cinderblock or cement...sometimes the metal siding of a train car...what type of scene do you want? |
Rick says he wants in too...but he sucks.
|
I want it all on canvases not on the walls.
Ill buy the canvases like 6' tall 15' long Need 2 same kinda style. |
I want kinda abstract stuff with some characters in there somewhere.
I have red leather couches in the living room and hardwood floors and 40' high bare white walls. Want something red and bright hung up high on each wall. |

The canvas will need to be stretched and treated...otherwise you get bleed...plus spray paint comes out of the can quickly...gotta stay away from the drip... I'm looking for some sketches I have...otherwise I'll scan some shit from my sketchbook... |
I will get the canvas mounted on the wood deals. I like when the paint goes on the side of the canvas no frame..
I think some coop/tattoo flash style shit would look killer done with spray paint that big.. What you think? |
here's a thread where I posted some sketches...
http://www.gofuckyourself.com/showth...highlight=post Its old stuff...but I can do anything... I knowwhat you mean though and its totally doable... |
40' is big though...trying to keel things to scale and proportion at that size is tough...
|
Will adult.com give you a weekend off? Maybe come stay and see what we can come up with on a mid size piece like 6x6. Howlong you think it would take if you had the sketches ready?

Unless you think we could re stretch the canvas once we get it inside. Then we could go up to 15 x15 would look killer |
I can do an 8' x 15' piece in about 11 hours...and to cover that amount of space takes about 80 or so cans...walmarts/kmarts usually have cans at about at about 1.20 ea...
I have weekends off...I'd love to come down and fuck around...I'm just not sure what you want...I could just wing it and come up with some pretty cool stuff...but if you want to do it...we should do it right...you should think about what you want... sometimes my art is a bit dark and moody...something you should understand...and seriously...you put me up for the weekend take care of my drinking habit and I'll buy the stuff... You like it and you can reimburse me... |
Andy is in town every other weekend . It would be cool if you and Rick made a trip. If we pick some flash stuff to base it off it might not come out so gloomy. Im not opposed to gloomy art but I want something bright when you first walk in.
Ill cover the cans and the bottles:) |
I would suggest we paint outside...unless you can get REALLY good ventalation inside...I have an idea too...you like sequential art?
We could get say 4 square or rectangular canvases...when I paint them they'll be edge to edge. But when we hang them they'll be spaced out...get me? Honestly...I think we need to experiment with the canvas though...the bleed you get on canvas with aerosol is ugly...but I'm sure we can work it out... |

I just got a wrx...I'd love to make the drive...lets do this...it'd be a blast...I'm actually really excited...working on that scale is sooo much fun. If you compile some stuff you like and I play around a bit...we'll smush the two together and get you something you like... |
I do like the sequence stuff alot. But one big piece might be more dramatic. .Im open to either. Im thinking paint outside too.
Also why not just prime the canvas with some flat paint to cut down on drippy drips |
Ill save some tatoo flash shit and email to you .
|
Use hoax at e a r t h l i n k . n e t
I'm down for this...for real |

I'd paint you something... but getting something that size through the mail would be pretty costly... plus construction of a sturdy frame that size and the amount of paint involved... it would be a decent upfront investment.
When you stretch anything that large, you have to be careful about the canvas used because it's more likely to sag/bulge in areas... |
If you want these to last a long time, my suggestion is prime them with some KILLZ from Walmart -- it's like white paint but it has mold killer in it which can be a problem sometimes if moisture transfers from the wall to the painting...

Unfortunately thats not a painting. Its an illustration done on the puter with a graphics tablet and painter. To reproduce or something similar on canvas you would be looking at about $2000 so its prolly not economically viable hehe |
Here's a guy who has done some great work for me-
I've got half a dozen of his pin-up paintings at my place. http://www.elliottmattice.com/ Check out his gallery area for some pin-up samples. |
