So now a second U.S. Appeals Court blocks Trump's revised travel ban. The Supreme Court now would have to overrule TWO US Appellate Court decisions -- unlikely.

They were already having briefs at the Supreme Court today about it. Before the 9th circuit handed down their ruling. The Supreme Court is fast tracking this case.

With a 5-4 conservative majority now, I would say more than likely they will do it. Plus the judicial subcommittee has informed RBG that she must recuse herself from the case or any involving trump because of her stupid comments on TV about how she feels personally before he won. They have the interview on tape. If she doesn't recuse herself the court will force her. SO 5-3 majority now. She can't participate in any case involving Trump now for what she did stupidly. If you don't believe me, look it up. She done really messed that one up.

Why is that not valid? She has said herself in recent interviews that she must recuse herself from any trump matters by constitutional law, so you're left with 5-3. That is a face, she will not preside over the case at all, she is not allowed. You think all 5 conservative judges will turn on him and rule otherwise? I could see Kennedy saying no to it then without Ginsberg 4-4 which throws it to the lower court's ruling. That is possible yes, I'd say 50/50 on that though.

The question is WHY would you not want a travel ban from those nations? It's only a handful of muslim countries, not a blanket ban. Are the results in Britain and France not enough reason to do this? I guess it's moot anyway, they may travel here if he doesn't get the win, but they have to leave within a certain time frame or he'll just send them home packing like ICE is all over the country. Plus all people from those nations will be under super scrutiny and probably watched and tapped at all times while they are here. They don't have any US rights as non citizens. Did you know that even if US citizen leaves the US then comes back they too have no constitutional rights coming back in? Which means they can search your phone/computer whatever they want without a warrant. The EFF filed a lawsuit about it last week.

1. Don't hold your breath.

There has not been one terrorist incident related to a person traveling into the US from the countries Trump's EO attempted to ban in 5 months now. If more scrutiny is given to vetting individuals' various travel visas, from suspect countries, that may be harboring terrorists -- there is no legal issue with that -- and so far that is working.

2. The US Supreme Court is not a simple us v. them political arena.

Politicians throughout American history have tried and failed to politicize the SCOTUS
The Appellate Courts did not rule against Trump directly, they actually ruled on the constitutionality of an executive order issued by the executive branch of government.

I highly doubt there is any reason for recusal. Your argument is a red herring.

The travel ban is a political gesture by Trump for his Islamophobic fans and their simple mindedness.
