Congressional Democrats to file emoluments lawsuit against Trump

Two hundred members of Congress plan on filing a lawsuit Wednesday morning against Trump claiming he violated constitutional restrictions on taking gifts and benefits from foreign leaders.

How could the Trump administration not see this coming? Is Trump making a profit from foreign governments? Yes.

Every morning I wake up wondering what is going to happen at the White House, and every morning I am not let down.

The US political system is rife with corruption. If you ant-Trump brigade were as anti-home grown corruption you might get a government that works for the people.

And if anyone thinks these people are spending billions to look after anyone other than themselves, then you're delusional. I guess if the corruption and interference come from inside it's Okay. :Oh crap

@paul: the UK, US, CZ, RU yadda yadda didn't make the top OR bottom 10 so what the fuck is your point? America sucks? You know you are going to get rebuked, you know none of this will make any difference. How are you holding up by the way?

The USA didn't create your misery -- you never lived here.

You should have emigrated to one of the top ten countries on that list.

Good for them I guess -- see you in court :laughing-

This lawsuit is going against the DOJ brief's position ....

Quote:

Yesterday, as the news cycles were dying down, the Trump Justice Department (DOJ) dropped a bombshell brief which Bloomberg reported. Citing George Washington as precedent, the DOJ is saying that it is AOK for President Trump to take foreign governments’ and state-controlled banks’ money for goods and services without congressional approval, that it is not a violation of the Emoluments Clause of the United States Constitution.

They will have their day(s) in court.

Posting more distractions off topic.

A foreigner supporting Trump corrupting our government only tells us you want America to fail and clearly you want the UK to fail and don't even love your own country. Oh well. I still like you Paul, politics aside, you're a good guy :thumbsup

It is because you (on average) must lack basic brain functions to choose leftardism/libtardism or sides leaning to those.

So almost 50% of voters who voted for Trump wanted America to fail?

I know you keep ignoring this question since you can not back up any of your ridiculously stupid and opposite to the true things you say, you are really really mentally ill and need help. Friendly advise.

Donald Trump Is Now Facing Three Emoluments Lawsuits

The attorneys general of D.C. and Maryland filed a suit on Monday alleging that the president?s receipt of foreign gifts and payments violated the Constitution.

Two days later, nearly 200 members of Congress also sued Trump for the same purportedly unconstitutional conduct.

Trump?s attorneys at the Department of Justice, meanwhile, are busy fighting another emoluments lawsuit, this one filed back in January on behalf of an ethics watchdog and Trump?s business competitors.

Quite the opposite. I want to point out how easy it is to give money to politicians money to sway their decisions. At the moment that process is bringing down the West.

Trump could be the start of people realising how corrupt the political process is and start looking at who is buying their politicians. His policies of building a Wall, stopping the haemorrhaging of jobs to the Third World, bringing jobs back to the US should be policies of the liberals. Not being increased under the liberals.

Western politicians job are to protect the living standards of their voters. At the moment they're clearly failing to do that and are part of the problem.

For the vast majority of Americans, America is failing them. Living standards are declining, this will be the first generation to be less well off than their parents. For some communities that has been the norm.

In the '50's in an average lower middle class home, with two children, one working parent paid for a brand new three bed room home, new furniture for that home, state of the art appliances for that home, a new car in the driveway, a boat, vacation, savings account etc. etc. etc.

So no it is not the first generation.
