MSNBC reporting middle age white male, there to kill as many republicans as possible. They also reported he used a shotgun and then when the ammo ran out switched to a handgun.

Congressman on MSNBC complaining that they didn't have "basic protection" at the event.

Shotgun? From the descriptions of the incident it sounds like an assault rifle.

Shooter is from Illinois, which restricted communities from banning "assault" rifles after a certain deadline some years ago. The beaners on the west side of Chicago have been using AR and AK rifles for gang activity. So they may be looking for an outright assault ban in Illinois or at least a high cap mag ban.

Look for Rahm Emanuel to go nuts on gun control in the coming days.
